Hey...wait a minute...

How come the ONE troll who likes me gets LAUREL'S attention? Where were you, o Webmistress when the gazillion others were raking me over coals...

LMAO

Damn my friendless fate...it's taken me MONTHS to get a genuine fan. Laurel, you ruin all my fun. Back into the box with the purple crayon for you!

;) MP

I'm a fan. *smile* Really truly. I am. A fan I am. Genuine and all that...

Of course... the question is... do you want Dillinger as a fan? *smile*

The voting is fucked. Dump it, it’s a bucket shit. Somebody’s fucked it all up.

Come now Fuckit!!! This voting process was created, very professionally, by the state of Florida. Chad-free.
But I have to agree with you somewhat. I can't believe that with over 400 stories on the list of Literotica awards, none of mine are on the list.

BullsEye! Eureka! Thar She Blows!

While I've been dancing around my point like a fool, leave it to an actual writer to so coherently crystalize what I wish I could've said about the voting. This is from a thread in the Author's Hangout, but it applies so well here that I had to bring it over:

Killer Muffin has a point about the nature of the audience. I think it was P.T. Barnum who said that show business wasn't about quality, it was about asses in seats. The ratings system is going to give you a limited indication of quality in the same way that the television ratings system will. "Survivor" will do better in the t.v. ratings than "I Claudius" because you can get up and go to the bathroom or grab a beer and not miss out. With all of the stories on this site it is a fair assumption that people will be skimming the stories to get to the things that interest them. Usually that is going to be sex. However that doesn't mean that there won't be an appreciative minority that will be hanging on every word that you write. It is perfectly allright to direct your stories to them, just don't expect to see the ratings go up.
Shakespeare made a point with Hamlet's advice to the players when he said:
"Now this overdone, or come tardy off, though it make the unskillful laugh, cannot but make the judicious grieve, the censure of the which one must in your allowance o'erweigh a whole theatre of others."
