"Hold on, Shorty."
Tania felt a jolt as Worm put the car into gear and shot back into another cruiser. Her eyes were wide with surprise as he pushed on the gas pedel like he was squishing a bug, causing her to loose her balance in the back of the car and fall sideways onto the passanger seat.
Worm, she thought to herself. Good name for exactly what he is. Glaring at him, Tania regained her balance and sat leaning against the door. The sound of the sirens turning on and the lights flashing all around her gave her a scare, and she pounded on the partition that separated them with her first.
"Turn that fucking thing off" she shouted.
"No. I kind of like it" Worm replied, turning his head slightly so she could hear him.
"I said turn it off". Tania focused her eyes on the back of his neck, willing him to turn it off. Instead, he takes a street corner almost on two wheels, screeching them as the car rounds the bend. Tania looses her balance once more. With her arms and legs flying in the air, she calls out "Stop". The sound of her voices bounces around the small compartment of the car, shattering the two side back windows and cracking the rear one.
An echo repeats the word, and just as suddenly as the sirens and lights began, they stop.
Sitting up in the middle of the passenger seat, broken glass on either side of her, Tania adjusts her cloths and smooths down her hair. Picking up her purse she takes out her mirror and opens it. "Damn" she sais. "I have a smudge on cheek."
