The War of the Gods

"Hold on, Shorty."

Tania felt a jolt as Worm put the car into gear and shot back into another cruiser. Her eyes were wide with surprise as he pushed on the gas pedel like he was squishing a bug, causing her to loose her balance in the back of the car and fall sideways onto the passanger seat.

Worm, she thought to herself. Good name for exactly what he is. Glaring at him, Tania regained her balance and sat leaning against the door. The sound of the sirens turning on and the lights flashing all around her gave her a scare, and she pounded on the partition that separated them with her first.

"Turn that fucking thing off" she shouted.

"No. I kind of like it" Worm replied, turning his head slightly so she could hear him.

"I said turn it off". Tania focused her eyes on the back of his neck, willing him to turn it off. Instead, he takes a street corner almost on two wheels, screeching them as the car rounds the bend. Tania looses her balance once more. With her arms and legs flying in the air, she calls out "Stop". The sound of her voices bounces around the small compartment of the car, shattering the two side back windows and cracking the rear one.
An echo repeats the word, and just as suddenly as the sirens and lights began, they stop.

Sitting up in the middle of the passenger seat, broken glass on either side of her, Tania adjusts her cloths and smooths down her hair. Picking up her purse she takes out her mirror and opens it. "Damn" she sais. "I have a smudge on cheek."

Sylvosh:

With the crazy drive and obvious pursuit, Sylvosh barely pays attention to Shorty when she tells him to turn of the siren and lights. Then an odd tingling in the back of his head accompanies a very strong urge to turn off the aforementioned distractions. What the hell does that mean? Maybe, he muses to himself, I'm losing my mind!

He turns his head to the side, just enough so she can see the smile. "No, I kinda like it."

Like an explosion in the frame of the car, all hell breaks loose. Not knowing if the minor distraction of looking back made him hit something, or if one of the pursuing officers shot at his cruiser, Sylvosh ponders, albeit briefly, the sudden silence following the forceful destruction of the siren, lights and rear windows. That same tingle in the back of his head says, Lose the bitch and he locks the brake down until he's at a full stop.

"Fine Goddammit, get outta the car." When she tries to door and then looks at him with a pissed expression, Sylvosh laughs under his breath and gets out of the car to open the rear door. "Scram, Shorty, before those morons kill you, trying to slow me down."

The morons Sylvosh mentions are closing in on his stopped cruiser. Their lights and sirens still attack the peacefulness of the day. Sylvosh jumps back in the car and takes off again.

Standing on the side of the street, hair messed, makeup just about gone and her clothes rumpled and ripped, Tania lets out a long sigh that comes from deep within. Still shook up about everything, she watches Worm get back in the car and start to drive off down the road, the cops it hot pursuit.

Tania didnt particularly enjoy being with the guy, but she liked the excitement, and she would hate to see him caught. In a spark of a moment, Tania thought about the other police cruisers stopping, and they did just that. It was as though the engines just failed. Cops littered the street, swearing and calling for more backup, as Tania started walking to the sidewalk and disapearing around the next corner.

She wasnt to sure where Worm had dropped her off and she hated the idea of being lost. Finally she came to a landmark she knew and it took her nearly an hour to reach her home.
