Age Limit

I have a question for the thread. I have recently started talking with a woman who is a few years older than I am. We are quickly becoming friends and both have expressed interest in dating. I am 23 with a fair amount of life experience where she is 28 with a LOT more experience in life, including drug and alcohol addiction. That she is in AA does not bother me, but is it possilble that my inexperience in some area's will be seen as a detriment? At our age how old is too old to date?
Later in life 5 years is not much, but in your twenties 5 years is a lifetime...let me know your thoughts.

You're 23....at that point, there are people seeing others who are 10 years their senior with no problem. The only time age should even be considered an issue is before/during your college years "22 and below". After that, who cares!

Hey everyone...Geez...it's been too long since I've posted, but I've just been really busy (i.e. Too fuckin' lazy)...I suppose I may even be considered a newbie in the thread even though I was among the first

Yorick- First off, your name is awesome. Now as far as your situation, I don't believe that anyone can truly say if it will be a detriment. You may not see it as one, I may not see it as one, but she may and in the end , it's how she sees it that counts. I think that experience, or lack thereof, is neither good nor bad. It's just a view of certain paths that people take in their life. If I were you I would go in with an open mind and see how things work out. If it turns out to be a detriment then so be it, but I don't think it should. In my opinion another person having experience in certain areas where you don't is usually very positive. Also, are you ready to be there for someone that is going through a tough time in their lives? Addiction is not an easy thing to break and it takes a lot of support from people that are close. She may not need you in this role, but it is certainly a possibility. No ordering wine on your dates As far as dating, and age and what not, it's as the old saying goes, Love is Blind. At this point in your life, you may not feel ready for a 5 year difference, and if that's the case than there are plenty of people closer to your age. If you think she is a cool person, one that makes you smile and feel good inside than what's such a thing as age? If you feel as if it would be a worthwhile experience than go for it. Age limit? I don't think there is such a thing! Let us know how everything goes!
