Their Secret (closed)

"Funny?" Jenni turned toward him, snapping. "Just because I'm attractive and I like to flaunt it doesn't mean I deserve to have guys attack me, Mike. I don't see anything funny about that. And if you do then you're just as bad as those guys," She frowned at him, irritated about the whole situation since she didn't want to think about it in the first place. She dropped her keys, too frustrated to get them into the lock correctly. "Damnit," she muttered, kicking her tire and slumping against her car door, feeling vulnerable and upset.

Mike watched her for a moment and sighed, "Look I didn't mean it like that Jenni." He walked over to her and picked up her keys off the ground. She was clearly more shaken than she wanted to show about what had happened and she was only trying to hide it.

He unlocked her door and opened the door for her, but blocked her way so she couldn't just jump in the car and take off.

"Jenni I'm sorry. You don't deserve anything bad to happen to you. But you have a choice to make in your life. Right now you are letting your looks control how you act and who you hang out with. You need to decide if you want to live in this social circle of assholes and probably become a royal bitch yourself, or if you want to be your own person and find a guy who will love you for you and not your tits. Right now your path is leading toward teenage pregnancy and drug abuse."

He handed her the car keys. "All I'm saying Jenni is maybe stepping outside your box you may like what you find."

Jenni watched Mike quietly as he opened her car door for her. It annoyed her when he stood in front of her door, preventing her from getting in and leaving like she wanted to. She placed her hands on her hips, listening to him sort of make an apology and then give her some kind of lecture. She only half-listened as she'd learned to do with parents and teachers and guys she didn't have interest in.

Teenage pregnancy and drug abuse? What was this guy, a public service announcement? She took her keys back from Mike's hands, sighing and shaking her head. Yeah, he's definitely a little weird, she thought. "Look, I guess I owe you a thank you or something for what you did. Okay?"

Mike knew he wasn't making any progress with her. If anything he was just digging a hole for himself in which Jenni would never say anything to him ever again. God he was so bad with women he would be a virgin forever. Then again maybe his sights were set too far out of his league, after all this was Jennifer Perez for fuck sake. Who was he to even think she would give him the time of day let alone anything more.

"It's alright. Have a good night Jenni." He said, as he started to walk away.

She nodded, getting into her car as Mike started walk away. She was grateful that he finally just left her alone, that's all she wanted from the start. Rolling down her windows to get some fresh air, she saw Mike heading in the opposite direction.

She thought about things for a minute as she started her car. Maybe he wasn't a creep or anything, she thought, probably just a geek. She rolled her eyes, wondering why she cared but she found herself calling out to him, "Hey, Mike! Need a ride anywhere?"

Mike blinked in surprise as she called out to him offering a ride. He tried to hide a smile and nodded, "Sure I'd love a ride....home." He darted over to the passenger side and climbed into the car. Her car was clean and smelt of her perfume, giving him a warm heady feeling. HE couldn't believe he was in Jenni's car, god if anyone saw him it would be all over the school.

He looked over at Jenni and smiled, "Thanks." He told her, then gave her directions to his place.

She was doing a good deed, in return for his. Nothing more. At school things would go back to normal and she'd ignore him again. But tonight she was cutting him a break, letting him enjoy his moment to be in her presence. Jenni glanced over at Mike and laid down the law. "Consider us even after this, okay? Don't touch anything in here and no weird jokes. In fact, maybe you just shouldn't talk."

She pulled away from the curb she'd parked at and started down the street to drive in the direction he'd given her. If Mike could just shut up for 5 minutes, maybe she wouldn't think he was such a weirdo.

Mike sat quietly, wanting badly to make a stupid joke or something, but didn't want to get kicked out of a moving car now. Besides he could only hope now that someone would see him in her car as they drove by. If that happened it wouldn't matter what actually happened because people would be interested in him at school. Of course that could also come with unwanted jock attention.

On second thought Mike clumped in the seat a little bit. They got to his place only a few minutes later as he didn't live far and he opened the door. "Well thanks again Jenni. I uh...well it was fun almost talking to you." He sighed and got out of the car. It sucked that he had no chance with her because it would be a blemish on her perfect social record.

Jenni just gave Mike the tiniest of smiles when he got out of her car. He did her a big favor, she was grateful for that. She gave him a ride home and even thanked him, but that's where their interaction ended. She was a cheerleader and he was...well, a geek. "Bye Matt," she replied, already forgetting his name in the short trip to his house. It's not her fault she knew so many people. Like she could fit one more person's name in her head? She gave him a little wave and drove off once he was on the curb.

Mike watched her go and smiled. He took a deep breath and felt good about himself. He had helped another person and that was enough reward on his karma. Sure Jenni would forget him in the morning, but somewhere deep down she might remember what he did for her, and maybe when they passed each other in the school hallway she would see him and give him a smile.

Then Monday came around and everything in his world changed in ways he could not imagine. It started like any other day. Mike got up, got dressed and went to class. Part of him was eager to see if Jenni would maybe smile at him at school or if she'd ignore him completely.

Jenni walked into fourth period Biology, with her notebook pressed against her chest, momentarily hiding the low cut top she was wearing. She sighed to herself, going to her desk toward the back of the room. She was hoping to just doodle on her note pages like usual while her geeky desk partner furiously scribbled her notes down for her, but she didn't see him. She asked her friend one desk over where he was and was dismayed to discover he had mono. She rolled her eyes, taking her seat. How could a loser like him get mono? Really?

She pouted, hating that she might actually have to pay attention in class for once. She had no idea what was even going on. She gasped when the Biology teacher walked into the room and told everyone to clear their desks for a pop quiz. Fuck! She was screwed, unless she could get someone to let her cheat off them...

Mike came into Biology a little late, walking right into a fucking pop quiz. He groaned and walked over to his desk, but hesitated. Jenni was by herself, her lab partner clearly not here today for some reason. Mike looked around before moving over to take a seat beside her. If Jenni relied on her partner for answers she would be screwed for this quiz. But if Mike helped her again she would owe him twice.

He gave her a knowing smile and set up for the quiz, casually making it easy for her to see the answers he would be putting on the paper. It was a short test, only eight questions and when it was over the teacher went into the days normal lecture.

During class Mike slid Jenni a note that read; "How are you today?"

Jenni glanced over at Mike when he slid her the note. She only looked down to read it because he'd let her copy his answers. Without those answers, she would've failed, without question. She sighed softly, only kind of remembering Mike from the night before, since she'd gotten herself really wasted once she got home to erase the horrible end of Michelle's party.

She picked up her pen and scribbled a note back that read, "Fine. Tired. Thanx 4 the answers. - XO Jenni". She didn't mean much by the little "-XO" it was just how she always signed her notes. She passed the note back to him, returning her eyes to the board ahead though she wasn't paying attention to the teacher's lecture.

Mike could tell from the way she sat in class she was bored and only wanted to get the hell out of there. He looked over the note and chewed on his lip, she had signed it with an XO which meant hugs and kisses, but did she really meant that? He looked over at her and wondered if maybe just maybe.....no there was no way.

He turned the page over and wrote; You know the past two days have been the most interaction we've ever had? And both days have been me saving your butt. I guess I like you, no surprise to you I'm sure. Maybe you can help me out with something, if I promise to keep it a total secret?

Jenni twirled a strand of her dark hair around her finger, super bored, waiting for the bell to ring. She didn't notice Mike looking at her, she had no reason to look in his direction, she'd already thanked him for his answers. The end.

From the corner of her eyes she noticed Mike writing more, another note. She glanced down at it, having nothing more interesting to look at. She read it over and arched her brow, almost curious. What could she possibly help him out with? There was absolutely no way in hell that she could make him popular. So that was out of the question. She picked up her pen again and wrote him back, "Help you? With what?"

Mike grew excited because her note didnt dismiss him outright. She actually responded with wanting to know what he wanted. So he grabbed the paper and wrote back. "i was maybe hoping you could kiss me. Look I know im crazy for asking but look at me Jenni. Im going to be lu,ky to ever get a girlfriend let alone anything else. I helped you out twice now. Just please help me with this. We can do it somewhere in secret and no one will ever have to know."

She read over his note, looking at him in disbelief. She whispered to him, without thinking. "Are you serious?" Her first reaction was to be offended. How could Mike ever think she'd want to kiss him? She didn't owe him that much.

Looking him over once again, in light of what he'd done for her recently, Jenni's second reaction was to take pity on him. He was a geek, it'd be super hard for him to get by in life. He'd probably never get a real-life girlfriend.

He wasn't hideous. If he changed his clothes, his hair and stopped being so awkward in conversation he could maybe pass for...decent-looking. She sighed, hoping she wouldn't regret this. She took the note and wrote down, "After school. Your house. Don't tell ANYONE."

Mike starred at the note for a long time after the bell rang. He couldnt believe that she had agreed, and he kept reading the note over and over as if the words would suddenly change begore his very eyes if he read it enough times. Of course there was no guarantee that she would show, but he got the impression that Jenni would have said no outright if she had wanted too.

Once Mike became convinced that the note was a yes the rest of the day moved like shit. He shook his head in agony as he waited for the day to end. When the final bell rang he ran home as fast as he could. He jumped in the shower and washed up quickly. Once he was dressdd and clean he sat in front of the tv waiting for her to show.

Jenni sighed, pulling up to the front of Mike's house about an hour and a half later. She was still in her cheer shorts and tank top, fresh from an hour long practice with her girls. She really didn't want to be here, preparing to kiss to Mike but she told him she would. She may've been mean or dismissive to people she viewed as below her, such as Mike, but she never backed out on a committment, no matter what. Besides, she could possibly count this as some kind of community service project, right?

Popping a piece of gum into her mouth, checking her makeup in her car mirror once more before stepping out, she walked up to the house. She pressed the doorbell when she reached the front door. Maybe she'd get lucky and Mike wouldn't even be home...

While Mike waited for Jenni to show up he had been thinking. This was his once in a lifetime shot. He liked Jenni, and he thought that there was a part of her deep down that was a wonderful person but unable to come out because of her social status. That was why she'd agreed to kiss him in the first place, because of that part that was fair and kind and sweet.

So he decided he needed to show Jenni that he was a real man. A guy that could please her and treat her right. Right now she saw only the nerd in him, but with this kiss he would pour everything he had into it and prove to her that he was a man worth having her.

When the doorbell rang Mike scrambled off the couch and ran to open it. Jenni was there wearing her cheerleading uniform still and his jaw kind of dropped. He backed away from the door, "Hey Jenni, come on in." He told her.

"Hey." She replied back, stepping inside the entranceway of Mike's house. She glanced around a little, slightly curious of her surroundings. She glanced at him, quick to put a halt to any ideas he might've had about them hanging out. "I'm not staying long. I have a ton of things to do...I'm planning a fund raiser and I have a routine to work out and I'm already behind on both." She casually blew and popped a bubble with her gum, folding her arms across her chest. "So, where are we doing this?"

Mike looked around and shrugged, "Down to business huh? Well I guess here is as good a place as any, then you can dart out the door when you're done.....if you want." He smirked, a plan for this already forming in his mind.

Jenni nodded softly, "Yeah, fine. Let's do it." She pushed her gum to her lips and removed it from her mouth, putting it back in the wrapper she'd gotten it from. She kept the wrapper in her hand for the moment, not sure where to put it. She looked at him, holding up her hand to keep him at a distance. "Don't try anything funny, ok? I only agreed to a kiss...one kiss." She waited for him to agree then exhaled. She puckered her glossed lips and leaned in close to Mike, softly pressing her lips to his.

Mike was faced with a rush as she moved closer to kiss him. HEr perfume filled his head and then her soft lips were upon his. This was his chance, it was now or never. He reached up and hooked his hand around the back of her neck and kissed her back, hard. His lips worked against hers, he pushed her back quickly until her back pressed against the closed door. He let her feel his body which wasn't as flabby as people thought, in fact he was in decent shape. He ignored her breasts against his chest, pouring everything he had into the kiss.

Jenni was planning to give Mike a quick peck, maybe just a second or two, but nothing more. She grunted against his lips in protest as her back hit the grain of the front door. She wasn't expecting him to be so aggressive or to do anything in return at all but take his kiss and be grateful. She lifted her hands between them, pressing them to his chest to start pushing him away from her.

She was surprised to feel that his body was a bit more toned than she could see from just looking at him. She was also surprised that he wasn't a horrible kisser. In fact, for a guy who hadn't kissed a girl before, he wasn't bad at it. She could humor him, she decided, just for a little longer. She relaxed her hands on his chest, slightly parting her lips against his.
