Because they use the same type of pads everywhere in the hospital and stuff. So like, in the OR? They have to position and flip patients all the time. Things that are not like.......SECURED down? They tend to come off. Most of the time the patient ends up laying on the spot you need the pad to be on. There might also be something that has to do with the specific gel adhesive for those. It might help conduction flow across it.

I know, I know, I'm just grumbling. I'm sure that there's some valid medical reason for me having to tear out my chest hair.

Luckily, I only had to have one EKG when I was in the ER. If there'd been a follow-up, I'd have looked like I had mange.
