Things that make me cry

It's not just the sad song, but it's realizing that every time he sings it, he's saying goodbye to his son. That is just painfully poignant.

For movies, I'd say Return To Me is about the saddest I've seen (yet very romantic in a quirky way). What a beautiful way to look at life.....

Oh man..... don't remind me...

"Life is Beautiful".

Fuck. I can't even think about that movie without crying.

And I've got to get my game face on tonight... Spain v. Russia!

Really? With that kind of emotional ambush, it might be kinder to hit the guy in the testicles.

They get 20 percent get more volunteers with, "We'll ask you to watch a sad movie" than "We'll hit you in the testicles."

Go figure.

must be in an emotional mood today, because i was just looking up a song i have listened to a lot of times already in youtube, and it (and the video) made me cry...

this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DudcWsfJ_vs (warning! it is bolivian folklore, which might not be everyone's cup of tea...)

it is basically about a boy who lost his father, and goes back to the place where he last saw him every year, and all that he has left is a charango to dance tinku.

The crappy remake was basically greeted around here with pitchforks and torches. You don't mess with Sayers & Piccolo.....that's just sacred.

The scene in The Patriot when Mel Gibsons character is about to leave his kids again to go fight...and the daughter that wouldn't talk to him comes running up, crying, begging him not to go

Yeah, and the scene in Independence Day after Randy Quaid takes out the alien mothership ... and his son says he's proud of his father. *sniff*

"Old Yeller"

Oh yeah. Anything with animal suffering, actually. Or where a child has to put down his beloved pet. The Yearling--WTF?!

There's a scene in a Dostoyevsky novel where a man ruthlessly beats his dying horse in an attempt to get the creature to pull his load up a hill, and I've cried each time I've read it.

One thing that always gets me is a military funeral. The playing of taps, the color guard, the 21 gun salute and the folding of the flag are all very emotional for me.

I'm so volatile that I cry at the drop of a hat.

The scene from The Hobbit when Bjorn appears in the nick of time in the Battle of Five Armies.

There was a scene in "Danger UXB" where one of the crew who has lost his family goes into a building to get out a bomb that is threatening a woman and her children. It goes off and kills him and the next scenes are flashbacks of his life. You could tell he was Going Home. I was useless for an hour.

Hell, even some of the things I write get me blubbering.

As a kid I cried over EVERYTHING, and my family always told me to "cut the drama." So I think I learned some anti-cry mechanism that I'm unable to shut off. Now as an adult, I cry very rarely.

Though we did have a death in the family a month ago and I cried in the hospital as we watched her pass.

My eyes get misty occasionally.

My sister cries at the drop of a hat.

I think because of that, I don't.

I still feel it inside, still ache and feel the sadness, still get the misty eyes, but it takes an awful lot to take me into tears.

That's nice to hear. I was starting to think I was wierd.

when my daughter holds my wedding photo and tells me that I am a princess I get misty eyed. :cathappy:

I can always tell when I'm feeling stressed. Every little thing makes me clamp tight. Then, when no one's around, I go hide in the bathroom and bawl it out. I mean, I'm six feet tall and 200 lbs. Who wants to listen to that?

It just makes me want to cuddle you more Big Bear.

It's not that weird. When I was a kid, I would actually cry quite often. I was emotionally sensitive. Anyway, for a long time I was teased about it, and tried not to show how I felt, but that didn't work really well.

When my great-grandmother died... I was an absolute wreak when we went to the viewing. I actually was made to wait in the car. I never cried much after that.

When I feel the urge to cry coming, something inside of me just swerves. My brain is disconnected from the feeling until my emotions subside enough that I won't be tempted to cry. It probably isn't healthy to disjoint myself from my feelings like that, but it's the way I am.

Seeing anything in a cage makes me cry.

I remember one time down at the Audobon Zoo, we had passed by some of the turn of the century cages that were then being used to store feed for some of the animals...yes purina makes monkey chow....
anyways...seeing the cages made me cry. God, how those animals suffered.
