Things that make you cry?

The Color Purple.

When she is reunited with her babies after all those years.

I cry!

I am talking hot thick tears just soaking my face and neck.

Armageddon

When he says good bye to his daughter. :(

The Lion King

When Mufasa dies. :(

Titanic

The whole preparing for the boat to sink. :(

The list can go on and on, but those are the ones I think of right away.

Almost every sad movie and any with inspiration. I can't think of the song's name but Loggins and Messina have a song about his father dying. My dad died in 2001 and I still cry every time I hear it.

When people pick on my special needs daughter.:(
I had a special needs brother, who recently passed away. The school I went to in the early '70s started a special ed class, and the kids in the school yard teased them unmercifully. Needless to say, I was in a fist fight every day for about six months straight. Looking back on it, my brother went on to have twice the fun in life than any of those kids did.

I found my Dad dead on the floor one morning a number of years ago. I thought I was handling everything really well, but one day after I went back to work, the song "The Living Years", by Mike + The Mechanics came on the radio just as I pulled into work. I cried my eyes out for about fifteen minutes. So much for being the tough guy then.

I used to cry all the time when I was little. I would get flung around a lot, I have faint scars on my lower back and one on my forehead from some of it.
The last time I really cried, though, was a few years ago when I found out my dad had gotten remarried when I was 10, and had waited years to tell me.

Oh, and when I'm playing something especially emotional on the piano. It's even worse if I'm singing and I hear my voice break without having realized I was crying.

Before I answer you all must understand- I am a heap big tough guy farmer who has a "real" job taking 911 calls. I send cops, ambulances, and firemen to horrible accidents, fires, you name it.

And the simple answer to the op's question...

I cry like a frightened little girl at funerals, weddings, sad songs/movies, etc. My wife says I might just be the biggest ballbaby she ever met. If you REALLY wanna see me lose it- let my sister & mom start singing a sad song together. I melt into a puddle of tears.

Oh my days. This list made me cringe away from laptop like something was going to reach out and do one of these things.

I can't say that it's a long list....I get mad first, usually, if someone hurts me somehow. And movies and sad stories don't affect me - maybe I've been desensitized because of my work? I see tragedy every day.

But two things always bring on the waterworks: thinking of my mom on special occasions (her birthday, Christmas, etc.) and the national anthem, especially if it's done well. I used to be in the marching band, and we'd play it before every game - I never could make it all the way to the end!

Both of these posts have touched me .

Many of you already know that I have a special needs brother and he means everything and then some to me. I would give my life for him....

I cannot even imagine people picking on a special needs individual but I do know that it happens...thankfully, my brother did not experience any of that while in school, or anywhere else for that matter....a major blessing...for, I can assure you...if that would have happened I would have been just like Creampie, defending him and making sure that he was safe, not just from physical abuse but by the pain of verbal abuse....

The people that bully, torment, mock others are the ones that have a deficit ...lack of intelligence, and a lack of a heart....

Sending hugs and genuine empathy to Serene and to Creampie...

Remembering people that are not in my life anymore.
Amazing music and art.
People showing great kindness to strangers.
Overwhelming feelings of love, sadness, loneliness and joy.

when I've let down a person close to me
when I laugh too hard

Chopping onions. Chewing, blinking, fans -- none work. I'll come out of the kitchen like an oscar nominee.

For me

Lots of things, many more as I age. Life is so incredibly beautiful, can be so hauntingly sad; not sure which brings out the emotions more. I think it's a tie, can, and do easily cry at the good and the bad.

since exactly 4 years ago (in about 3 hours) pretty much anything, an episode of castle was actually one of the worst, really made me ball like a little girl

Tried to send a PM, but your inbox is full. Long story short, thank you for the hug, should you ever need words of encouragement on the subject, just reach out, and have a very Happy Birthday!

Thank you and sorry about that.
