Thoughts on a "warning" in a story foreword?

Those two statements contradict each other.
Not necessarily. I read that as to say 'The existence of a warning itself is not likely to make readers leave, the content will."
In other words, the warning isn't the issue as much as what the warning describes.

Subtle difference and depends highly on the readers inference of the sentence. I think you're more literal than I am, so that probably explains the different interpretations.

This is my first story that contains male on male action
I wouldn't draw attention to it being your first story containing male on male action and would not include this phrase. The rest is up to you, well, all of it is, quite frankly, but if you say it is your first, some may think you're a rookie and not go any further.

If it's got male-on-male action at Literotica, it should go to the GM category, not merely being proslugged as including that.

This is an adult site. You are supposed to be an adult to play here. The site includes categories and keywords. If a reader gets heartburn if those functions are taking care of signaling content, they shouldn't be reading on this site at all--they aren't being adult enough to be here. Adults can take responsibility for their own reading and just back out of any story that's giving them heartburn.

@grenefire , for what it's worth, I just uploaded a story with a "warning" of sorts similar to yours. Mine said: "Most of my stories involve the same four main characters, but for the Literotica contests, I have branched out into an 'Alternate Freya-verse.' In my usual writing, 'Story Freya' is much less of a sassy jerk than she is in this one. But it's still a fun story!"

In other words, "Story Freya" is a sweet and kind character. But in this one single story, she's kind of jerky. And I warned people (mainly a warning for loyal readers).

And... You guess it... People complained that in this one story, "Story Freya" was less likeable and therefore they didn't like it. Which it totally fine. I'm flattered that readers care that much. But warning or not, tags or not, it may not really matter much in the end. So, do what you want and let the chips fall where they may. 🙂

I like the note, I did something similar for such a chapter in Seed of the Void. I don’t think its wrong to forwarn your readers what to expect given the unique dynamic erotica has. Any other type of story it wouldnt make total sense but I think for us it does.

Early on, I posted stories on Literotica that were fairly "tame". Then, I got the urge to write a dark non-con story. At that point, I felt like I had a fairly decent following that I didn't want to alienate, so I did include a warning in the preface of my non-con story.
