I’m sure all those sailors and marines are given a brief before going ashore. Most sailors don’t have access to OPSEC information or the CiC. Most sailors don’t know much. Complaining about food or sleep is normal. It’s the media that made an issue out of it. Doing a tour in Fallujah and then they can bitch. I think those sailors on an Arleigh Burke had a much tougher time. These carrier critters had some of the best training ever.
