Outrage against Dianne Feinstein as potential Judiciary chair comes out against Senate reform

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) received harsh criticism on Monday after coming out against Senate reform of the filibuster.

“I don’t believe in doing that. I think the filibuster serves a purpose,” Feinstein argued.

“It is not often used, it’s often less used now than when I first came, and I think it’s part of the Senate that differentiates itself,” Feinstein falsely claimed.

Twitter was not thrilled.

Feinstein is in line to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee if Democrats regain the Senate, despite never attending law school or having ever tried a case.

If Manchin and Feinstein are not willing to abolish the filibuster, then they need to be stripped of their chairmanships of the Energy and Judiciary committees.
Schumer must do this, or lose his primary in 2022.

From a progressive point of view, Manchin is quite conservative but nonetheless has a very high Value Over Replacement Senator.

Pelosi has taken the debt ceiling & the budget off the table. Tim Kaine took impeachment and expanding the court off the table. Feinstein is also against expanding the court. So, in the span of 48 hours, Democrats have taken almost their entire arsenal off the table on RBG seat.

She needs to retire if Biden wins and Gov. Newsom should appoint youngish Representatives for both Senate seats.

Democrats in Congress have done little more than pay lip service to bipartisanship in the week since the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Even as the high court’s ideological balance is up for grabs for the third time in four years — and as the president of the United States refuses to commit to a peaceful transfer of power — prominent Senate Democrats have rushed to tamp down talk of retaliatory action. This leaves little doubt that the opposition party is unequipped to handle the threat posed to democracy by Donald Trump and the Republicans.

The Democrats’ response to such threats this week can fairly be described as pitiful.

“I think Democrats are gonna continue to appeal to the sense of honor that when someone gives their word, as Lindsey Graham did, that they can’t just break it,” Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., said on Thursday, calling it “folly” to even discuss potential Democratic responses like expanding the Supreme Court. “This is a moment that I would say to any Republican of good conscience working in the administration, it is time for you to resign,” Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., appealed.

There is at least a slight chance that the Dems do have a plan up their sleeve. It would be out of character for them, but keeping mum about it for the moment would be the smart thing to do if there is a plan.

The problem for Democrats is, Trump is much smarter than both Chuck and Nancy. He has put them in a position where they have to oppose reasonable policies that can help the American people. The two of them together have done absolutely nothing for their country except expose their hate and disrespect for a duly elected President and oppose policies he was elected to carry out. They are seen as obstacles to a more secure and prosperous country. No matter what it is, if Trump proposes it, they oppose it. They come across as angry, hostile to the safety and welfare of ordinary Americans, and as completely incompetent. They know how to sow discontent and promote division. They're too dumb to realize that end the end of their road awaits their destruction.

Appearing on MSNBC on Saturday Morning with Ali Velshi, former Colin Powell chief of staff Lawrence Wilkerson said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) should immediately begin impeachment hearings against Attorney General Bill Barr.

After discussing Donald Trump’s threat to not strep down peacefully should he lose in November, Wilkerson turned his ire on Barr who has been accused of acting like the president’s personal attorney.

‘We’re back in a period where a lot of the things that happened in that very torturous period that led to our Civil War seem eerily like what’s happening today,” he continued. “And I agree with what was just said about Attorney General Barr. If I were the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, I’d start impeachment proceedings against him immediately. He’s no attorney general — he’s not even a good lawyer. He’s a dangerous threat to this country.”
