But how did they get posted if comments are moderated?

If I get a nice comment for Anon or others, I usually leave a nice comment back. I assume that they return to the scene of the crime.

He denies it and claims that someone quoted his posts in the comment.

I'm inclined to believe him. He is rude enough to me on the Politics board (and I to him) without resorting to anon comments.

But it was another politics board Trumptard if not Cornus.

I was annoyed because all comments are supposed to be moderated but those seven got through unchallenged.

In the future, I will just delete (as I have now done for these seven).

I think the comment that the site administrators are only monitoring for spam might be correct.

More comments from Anon overnight. I have deleted two but left one because another person criticized them for it.

For the record I am not 'anti-American'. I am on an American website. What anon objects to is that I spam the politics board with facts and oppose baseless lies supporting Trump and the Capitol invaders.

Some people still believe the 2020 election was 'stolen', despite the evidence. Sad.

The effect on my contest entries was obvious. The recent sweep has removed dozens of votes, far more dubious ones than a 'normal' author would expect.

Edited for PS: The trolls also follow the AH, if in fewer numbers. Mention your high rating in a contest thread and watch it fall in hours.

PPS: Announce a sweep, and the trolls will return with one votes.

This is a big part of why we should completely and totally ignore the certain few over there. No acknowledgement of them at all. Or at least not under an ID we post stories with.

But if the purpose of the discussion is to caution people to be prudent and practical about what the scores mean, then RubenR has a point. The Politics Board is a cesspool. I have never opened a thread and seen an intelligent back and forth discussion, that I can recall. It's just lots of personal, biased attacks being slung back and forth. By participating, one calls attention to oneself, and not in a good way. That's one of the reasons I don't participate there much, and don't plan to. It's not productive debating with others about their extreme biases.

There used to be, but then people started exchanges with a couple of useless idiots and it all fell apart. I keep trying to get people (like Ogg) to not address those few at all, but they continue. .
