To put it delicately

Murder, sexual criminality and anti-social behaviour feature often in my poems though it is more implied than direct, though I'm not against being direct if the poem requires it but sadly, most times it doesn't.:(

I just got my first rejection from the editors of the site. It was a humorous poem about male teenage psycho-sexual development. I strung 5 limmericks together to do a little "hero worship" of a peer whom the girls seem to go ga ga over while the rest of us made him into some kind of comic book super sex hero that we all aspired to be. Two of the limmericks referred to Tijuana Bible comics. (Google it if you haven't heard about such things that were the inspiration of adult comics today. Olive Oyl, if I do say so myself, was quit the babe, and Popeye, well, his biceps weren't the only thing that was big).

I laughed most of the while I was constructing it. Erotica can be many things, and it certainly can and should be funny at least once in a while.

Because it pertained to sex among high school adolescents, it wasn't approved for publication. It made me feel like I was contributing to the delinquency of some cyberspace minor. I've had "writer's block" since. Whaddya gonna do?

Make them be college students on a bus.

Don't worry. You are not contributing to the delinquency of some cyberspace minor with limmericks. They prefer XTube and the like.

Besides I think the reason for having the rule about not writing about minors is to try to prevent pedophiles from getting off on the material here, and to supposedly not put ideas into their heads (or put ideas into the heads of others who might not have viewed under 18's in a sexual way. At least not as a possibility for real encounters.) To protect minors from we old folks, not as much from each other.

The way they protect minors from being "delinquent" is by telling them they can't come in here, not by telling us not to write about them. (or take their pictures, etc)

Laurel has written quite extensively over the years about this policy. Bottom line is that she just doesn't need the crap that can come with it. It really came to play back in the days when porn/eroica sites were getting "Ashcroft'ed" and writers were very actively getting procecuted for even mentioning underage sex in their stories. (i.e. Frank McCoy)

16 is legal over here

It is in a number of localities here as well, but usually with the caveat of only being within a certain number of years in age difference between those involved. That is one of the reasons why they went with 18--it is legal pretty much everywhere I know of.

It just seems to me that it's not tantilising in the way it's intended to be when over here 18 is considered an adult with voting and alcohol drinking rights
