Today I learned...

TIL (for the 87,000th time) that I do have to respect the limits placed on my body by 18+ years of living with multiple sclerosis. And, even though I stopped working a week ago, I am still tired AF. After "recovering" from a very long relapse, I still have no idea what my "new normal" looks like.

Oh, and an allergy to chicken feathers could prevent one from being able to get a flu vaccination. Guess I am not allergic, though I never thought I was.

No. Not chicken feathers. Why?

I'm sorry about the MS, fun_size.

Today I learned:

My med surg professor lives maybe 5 miles from me, and his wife works at the hospital I'm doing clinical at. He says "that's a long ass drive to make everyday" because he only does it 3 times a week.

My school husband and mistress (this I learned yesterday) and I are having a Halloween party next Saturday :D. We planned it over Discord chat instead of learning about depression (don't teach me what I live everyday.)

I have to do a presentation next week on the positive (and negative) effects of schizophrenia. I'm still confused about POSITIVE side effects of schizophrenia. (Yes Noe I made note of what we talked about.)

Oh and I learned that previously mentioned school husband, mistress, and I really must keep our extra curricular meeting to bars because we are not general public appropriate. That sandwich shop employee was red as a tomato.

-That the lovely little octopus at work is very adventurous, and probably a girl.

-And that I already love the little squishy wee-beasty like a daughter.

-And that no you can't judge me for thinking that octopus is so cute I just want to squeeze it and love it forever and.... HEY! What did I say about judging!

Sorry bout the ankle.
Girl octopus - rather chauvinistic comment, eh?
Squishy wee-beastly - 💓😘
Not judging...ok...just a little!

MS - :( -- and boo to new normals.

Today I learned how to fill a syringe and jab it in to someone's arm, all Pulp Fiction like. Thanks, Far!

Hey now! No chauvinism, and to prove it in the spirit of the thread....

Today I Learned:

-The lovely little cephalopod has potentially a regenerating tentacle (leading me to think it is probably a girl) as opposed to a short hectocotylus (sperm transferring short stubby tentacle) that a boy would have.

In other words the equivalent of not seeing the boy parts. :p

I am jealous I don't have an octopus to love :(

Today I learned my 10 year olds are off the charts in their standardized testing.

Also that one of their teachers has a Masters in criminal justice, but not an actual teaching degree. She's working on it though.

Today I Learned:

That I will be having to drive nearly 500 miles next week to return a microscope.

Is it one of those super giant microscopes?
What is the reason FedEx cannot handle this undertaking lol

No it's not one of those super giant ones. Actually it's a rather small one as far as microscopes go. Last time I tried shipping a microscope via FedEx, it wound of getting broken, and it was one that was purchased in 1984 for $7,000. However, despite my paying extra for insurance on it, they categorized it as a "piece of technology" and claimed that since the purchase it would have depreciated in value to being only worth $500. I fought tooth and nail saying how "No... It's a microscope. As long as the lenses are on good shape they don't EVER depreciate in value." They didn't agree with me. As such... Road trip delivery it is.

See now that is good reasoning.
Enjoy your road trip. Bring a friend.
