- it's been a while. I'm well too, I've been trying to write and I keep changing my mind so I've got three versions of one story and about five others started. A touch undecided I guess. Cathleen said:Today I noticed this great quote in Jazzy's sig line. I think I'm going to ponder it a while. I truly love Emerson, he was amazing. For so long it was his student, Thoreau, that captured my mind more often. Now I seem to gravitate to Emerson - I suppose I can't separate them. Not a bad pair actually.
Insist on yourself; never imitate. Your own gift you can present... but of the adopted talent of another you have only an extemporaneous half possession - Ralph Waldo Emerson
(I agree that my indecision most likely has a purpose - as yet still unknown. lol)

Thank you Jazzy, I'm hoping you will again be able to gift me with your time as editor.jacuzzigal said:Today I say both Emerson and Thoreau have great insights and some of their quotes are among my favorites. The one in my signature line is... an anthem for me this year, a reminder of something I need to remember and live. I'm glad you like it.
And when clarity dawns on that indecision I bet a GREAT story will emerge. You're a great writer, Cate.![]()

I think part of my enjoyment and attraction to Emerson and Thoreau is geographical. Walden Pond and the other places they walked are not far from me. I love to contemplate that I can be standing where they once stood.... it's just neat!
Now I'm off to bed - again. I'm so glad we got to chat a bit.![]()

was driving home from work about a half hour after the bars closed, and when I pulled into the turnaround to make my 'Michigan Left' a drunk pedestrian jumped in front of my car and walked up to my front bumper and started challenging me to get out of the car. He wouldnt move until someone else drove up next to me and started yelling at the guy.
What a jackass![]()
