Today I...

Today I removed all the sentimental items. Pictures, cards, ticket stubs, the picture you colored for her. It's all in a box, in the back of my closet. It no longer hurts, but it still makes me sad. I had*a*chat today with a friend that really helped me feel better about things. I even got out for a change of scenery. And I was finally able to eat and got some school stuff done. One of these days I'll get rid of the box and be ready for someone new.

Oh, honey. ((((flirtygirly))))

You've taken a positive step.
It sounds like you've got a very good friend.
Chin up and keep looking forward. :rose:

Burn the box and all of its contents and dance naked around the fire. No, seriously, it's cleansing and liberating, and just a little silly. Best to do it on a calm night with no one watching and in your own backyard.... And keep a bucket of water handy, just in case.

I've done the same thing to a similar box, and felt so much better afterwards. I've also sent certain pictures and things through the paper shredder and imagined it to be a sort of voodoo type ritual..... had fun visualizing "him" cringe as the shredder ate into his private parts :)

Dee gives good advice.

I still have some of the things that someone I loved very much, who hadn't the wherewithal to love me back gave me. He promised me the moon and left my heart sore, lonely and sad. I don't know why I keep some of them. I guess because they were a big chapter in my life. eventually, I'll be doing the shredder dance too, I'm sure. :)

Dee, the part about shredding and his private parts made me chuckle. When I do get rid of a few things...I'm going to do just that :D

Good for you.

Best for forward, flirtygirl

Don't worry about when the time feels right, it'll just happen.

Thank you all so much!!

Dee...I shredded all the pics & things I had at work. :)

Today I will finally put away what is left of the Christmas decorations. There are always those last few items that still look good right where they are.

Today I took an extra long time shaving myself down yonder, just because I felt like it. Unfortunately all that effort is wasted on just me.

Today I told reality to kiss my ass; It's my party and I'll be impractical if I want to be damn it. :D

Today I...

Got up way too early for as little as I slept.
Spent the morning shopping for curtain rods.
Spent the afternoon antiquing with my family.
Didn't say hello.
Watched the first race of the season! Yay for NASCAR!

Today I will

help him pack and hate that he is leaving
tell him I love him 100x
miss him horribly, even before he goes

put this house into lockdown as soon as he is gone. I feel more safe when he is here.
