What do you guys think about a fantasy story where the main character gets little dopamine hits so often and for so long that she starts ignoring her own pleasure?

Do you mean like she gets bored of them? Or desensitized to them? Or downright annoyed by them?

It also raises lots of questions, like where are these little hits coming from? Some sort of medical condition? A brain implant? Someone tying her up and administering them in a laboratory?

Is this something she sought out deliberately? Is it malicious mischief on the part of some enemy? Or just random chance?

Lots of opportunities for interesting stories, but I think you need to definitize things a bit first. Based on where you want the story to go.

She concentrated on the vaulting table at the end of the runway. Her own gaze locked, and her tall black ears swiveled forward, but her [inconvenient superpower] didn't care. Each gaze that fell upon her made her fluffy black tail twitch, drawing even more eyes. Her heart beat a little faster, her eyes dilated a little more, and her skin felt like it was being caressed by hundreds of tender, sensual hands. But none of these sensations were new; she'd felt them long before she was old enough to learn the words facet gland or omega-trait.

She'd trained for this. Pushed her body until her thighs looked like tree trunks on her short body, and her calves felt like steel under her hands.

After all the tension of waiting, the explosive sprint down the twenty-five-meter runway felt like a relief. A round-off back handspring with a one-half turn onto the springboard, hands shoving the vaulting table hard, then a stretched salto forward with one-and-a-half turns before her feet slammed into the mat, knees flexed.

@usable001 Hopefully you've got this text saved somewhere other than this post, because it will likely get modded down to just the first few sentences, per the forum rules!
Yeah, I have it saved.

The whole thread is circling around the "who wants to read this crap" portion of my writing process. I edited that chapter down to the relevant three paragraphs.

I have no way to tell.

What is the fantasy? What happens as the result of this dopamine saturation? What is the story about?

Scroll down to my second post.
What is the story about?
While I was working on a summary for my own notes, someone commented that it's "Mystery Men + Boogie Nights." Non-superheroes who happen to have powers are called upon to deal with a supervillain the regular heroes couldn't handle.
