A German woman was involved in three car accidents in less than an hour - including a crash in the ambulance taking her to hospital.

The 69-year-old woman from Berlin first crashed into three cars while trying to pull out of a supermarket car park on the Baltic resort island of Usedom.

Then, she accidently stepped on the accelerator and sped across a lawn before crashing into a nearby house, police said. She was taken to hospital in an ambulance but that vehicle was then hit by a truck.

A man in Australia had to undergo surgery using fire brigade equipment to remove sixteen stainless steel washers that had somehow become lodged on his penis.

Fire Rescue officers had raced to help the man at about 3am, after the washers became stuck on his penis in mysterious circumstances.

After spending over an hour attempting to free his genitalia from the washers, the fire officers transported the man to hospital in Hornsby, a suburb to the north-west of Sydney.
