The infamous orgasm scene in the movie "When Harry Met Sally" -- the original script just wanted Harry & Sally to talk about women faking an orgasm. Meg Ryan suggested that Sally actually fake an orgasm at the table. Rob Reiner, the director, loved the idea and put it into the script.

The ancient greeks had a term they used for when a ship would sail into the shore with their cargo by waiting for the tides to just start coming in. In those days without modern port facilities, they simply threw a line around a protruding rock and used wooden planks to bring their goods to shore.

If they didn't use ships, the meats and vegetables would spoil on the long treks using horses and carts. The same would happen if the ship missed the incoming tides. They'd have to wait for the next tide to come ashore.

The tem they used was, "Ob Portu." As with many greek words and terms, it has been used since and changed in spelling and meaning. Today we know "Ob Portu" as, "Opportunity."

Toni Tramel, 31, of Owensboro, Kentucky, was arrested for public intoxication.

But as she was changing into an inmate's uniform at the jail, she is alleged to have sprayed breast milk into the face of a female deputy who was supervising her.

The officer had to undergo decontamination due to the potential bio-hazard.

Tramel now faces a felony charge of third degree assault on a police officer, with a bond set at $10,000.

all words ending in -tion are the same in English and French.

Modern English defines a billion as one thousand million (1,000,000,000). Many other languages define a billion to be one million million (1,000,000,000,000).

The modern bikini was invented by a French designer in 1946. It was named after Bikini Atoll, the site of US nuclear weapon tests a few days earlier in the Marshall Islands, on the reasoning that the burst of excitement it would cause would be like the nuclear device. Between 1946 and 1958, twenty three nuclear devices were detonated at Bikini Atoll. One detonation on March 1, 1954, codenamed Castle Bravo, was the first test of a practical hydrogen bomb. The largest nuclear explosion ever set off by the United States, it was much more powerful than predicted and created widespread radioactive contamination.

Gives a new meaning to the word 'bombshell', doesn't it? :D
