Tricked into thinking they have mind control powers

MC is unknowingly put into a situation where they believe they have mind control powers. They think they have free rein but the people they use their “powers” on are all in on it.

Maybe it’s actors, maybe it’s a simulation, but either way, they are given free reign for a time before they find out they have no actual powers.

Alternatively, someone with actual mind control powers follows them around and uses their powers to make MC’s wishes come true while hiding their own uses of it.

For example: fraternity decides to prank one of their newer, nerdier pledges. They trick them into buying a “mysterious artifact” that let his bend minds to his will. But it’s actually some junk.

Now it could go multiple ways: maybe they invite their sister sorority over and the sorority is in on it: the girls are up for about anything but they’ll signal if they want the prank to stop. But something unforeseen happens: nerd is actually kind of attractive once he has the confidence that people have to obey him, or he has a big cock…or he isn’t interested in the sorority girls: he’s interested in the house mom

Or: guys expect MC to go wild, prank them back, demand sex from everyone…but he doesn’t. He’s actually a very good person, so he use it with the hopes of giving them positive affirmations or getting them to stop doing destructive behaviors. Eventually, they feel guilty or become desperate to get him to do ANYTHING even slightly naughty with it.

Maybe he just uses it for positive affirmations, and to get the other guys to sit down with him and talk their problems out. On the one hand, if he tries to use his fake mind control powers outside of the fraternity, it'd expose the prank and hurt the guy's feelings or maybe even get him hurt, which none of them want anymore. On the other hand, they're all feeling much better about themselves and their life in general so they don't want him to stop.

I actually wrote a story like that (not erotic and not on Literotica). A lady with mind-control powers tells her daughter that her favorite ring is the source of her powers and loans the ring to her daughter to try out for a day. Because the daughter always did what her mother told her to do, Mom got a rude awakening when the daughter thought Mom wasn't around.

I can see this ending in a funny, embarrassing situation where the MC is on his own, trying to use his mind control powers on someone and it doesn't go well for him because he doesn't realize the joke is over.
For example, he confronts his bully thinking he'll make him do something embarrassing as payback but instead gets beat up for it.
Or maybe he tried to get the girl he likes to have sex with him, but she freaks out by his strange behavior and calls the police on him.
