Trump gives classified information to staff to whom the FBI will not give clearance

I would agree, however it's not that uncommon for people to have their demons only for them to surface after hiring or meeting them. I think the bigger question is; if the ladies did tell their story to the FBI, did the FBI really tell the administration what they found out, or was the information hedged due to investigation? If there is a paper trail to show the administration knew not only of the abuse, but that the alleged acts were confirmed, THEN we have a real scandal.

In my career I've know some people who probably needed incarceration yet ducked the system or had ways to avoid it. I've also had friends who have had careers lost and families split because of circumstantial evidence. And just to be consistent, both sides are equally as corrupt. Politics and the media only brings it to the public eye.

We've elected people who otherwise wouldn't get a security clearance.

The clearance thing isn't as big a deal as people make it. The abuse thing tho, that's a big deal. Not so much cuz he did it but because everyone knew and ignored it or tried to cover it up knowing full well it was going to stop him from getting clearance and because he's garbage and nobody seemed to care.

It's apparently already been established that several people knew and chose not to do anything. I'm disappointed in Ms Hicks. I was going to fuck her but now I just don't know.

Then what's the point? A background check isn't the same as security clearance.

The point being a simple back ground check would and did produce enough info to show Porter was not a person “of good conduct and character” required for any federal job.

SHOTUS surrounds himself with people who can't even get clearance and yet they handle classified information every day.

Any of you dopes want to try and defend that?

LOCK HIM UP!

Sounds like the Clinton administration. :)

Then what's the point? A background check isn't the same as security clearance.

The pint is even a basic background check revealed that they were not fit for the job nor fit to handle classified information.

So why were the temp clearance credentials not revoked?

The thread and discussion is over security clearance. That everyone knew what he did due to his background check has already been established.

Why he was allowed to continue is the point, yes. It's the whole point. People are going off in directions that don't matter. They did a check, knew and nobody did anything until it became public. Background checks and security clearances don't have a whole lot to do with it except in that it shows they didn't care he was a wife beater.

They are given temp clearances until things are finished. It's kind of normal and not just this admin. Background checks take a lot of time and resources and there are a lot of people who need them.
Yeah....

Did due? I didn’t read that it had been established already in this thread. That is clearly not what you posted earlier.

That is one point. The other is the irony of it, all things considered. You know, like emailgate.

Welcome to the GB where we often post what we want on any given topic in any given thread. People are sure to take your adversity to that into consideration in the future. That and you responding to a post I made to the Colonel.

Um, no. He will tell you what the only point is in the thread you started, silly.

My first post was about checks for security clearance. They take a long time. Basic job checks don't.
Don't know as it was established in this thread but it was in the real world and that's all that matters.
Don't care if people like what I think about how things are discussed in a thread. I don't like lots of things, don't expect anyone to give a shit.

It was also established, in the real world, why Porter was not cleared when you made your first post.

Great, then don’t give a shit what anyone else posts.

My first post was about security clearance not the idiot involved. Doesn't change no matter what else does.

"Corporate culture" exists, one manifestation of which is, "If the boss is OK with it then it's OK". Minions in the White House would have been bothered by wife-beating allegations IFF they thought the boss would be bothered. If it's no problem with the boss then it's no problem with staff.

We get back to responsibility. POTUS is responsible for what happens in and with their administration. POTUS owns the place. The buck stops at the Oval Office. That's where blame lands. Any security leaks? POTUS is responsible. Question is, what does Tromp do with this shit he owns? Answer: he evades.

I've always thought Trump was a wife beater. I have no real evidence but I've always gotten that vibe from him long before he ran for office.

Ivana got that vibe too, lest we forget.

The part of the book that caused the most controversy concerns Trump’s divorce from his first wife, Ivana. Hurt obtained a copy of her sworn divorce deposition, from 1990, in which she stated that, the previous year, her husband had raped her in a fit of rage. In Hurt’s account, Trump was furious that a “scalp reduction” operation he’d undergone to eliminate a bald spot had been unexpectedly painful. Ivana had recommended the plastic surgeon. In retaliation, Hurt wrote, Trump yanked out a handful of his wife’s hair, and then forced himself on her sexually. Afterward, according to the book, she spent the night locked in a bedroom, crying; in the morning, Trump asked her, “with menacing casualness, ‘Does it hurt?’ ” Trump has denied both the rape allegation and the suggestion that he had a scalp-reduction procedure. Hurt said that the incident, which is detailed in Ivana’s deposition, was confirmed by two of her friends.

Never trust a recanted abuse story when telling it would put your divorce settlement in jeopardy.

Isn't it amazing that so many people on this board (and their alts) continue to make excuses for this asshole president no matter how hypocritical he reveals himself to be?

Watch, these same defenders and diversion experts will scamper away to their holes like roaches when the Stable Genius's administration collapses even worse than that of the GW Bush administration.

22 senior administration officials now gone. Didn’t he say he hired the best people?

Because you clearly do not understand (or care) how the process works. The person with the direct revocation authority is the President, and if the President wants that person in the job, HE will judge the "fitness" of that individual for the purpose of clearance credential revocation or lack of it (irrespective of your manufactured outrage).

Period.

All this baying at the moon with regard to the overall unfitness of this entire administration is not one iota different in tone or volume with what rightwing nutjobs did during the entire Obama administration. It is simply 180 degrees in the opposite direction.

Because the American electorate DECIDED to move 180 degrees in the opposite direction. Live with it now as you lived with it then.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oh, golly-gosh, Colonel Hogan, you are just so fair and balanced with your 180-degree analogy!

Actually, there was no investigation that gained any real traction against the Obama administration. This administration, however, is rotten enough to warrant a full-blown investigation, despite the fact that the ruling party controls three branches of government.

And no, we don't have to "live with it now". If this new Repugnican wing of the Republican party has violated federal laws, efforts will be made so we don't have to live with it now.

The American electorate DECIDED ~51-49 that HRC was preferable to DJT, that his direction was wrong. The electoral college, like gerrymandering, rewards losers. We see how well that's working. Roll your eyes all you want. Current rule does not represent the will of the voters. Convince me that's good.

The Electoral College itself is the will of the people.
