TSCLT 12.0: The pantheon hates a pussy 2.0

I get no joy from doing floor work. I've done a bit of it and generally it's not hard, just not fun.

I hate the straps that always bunch up behind my knees.

I am Content to Live in the Mystery

By: Henry Miller

I have a theory that the moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.

I have tried this experiment a thousand times and I have never been disappointed.

The more I look at a thing, the more I see in it, and the more I see in it, the more I want to see. It is like peeling an onion.

There is always another layer, and another, and another. And each layer is more beautiful than the last.

This is the way I look at the world. I don't see it as a collection of objects, but as a vast and mysterious organism.

I see the beauty in the smallest things, and I find wonder in the most ordinary events. I am always looking for the hidden meaning, the secret message. I am always trying to understand the mystery of life.

I know that I will never understand everything, but that doesn't stop me from trying.

I am content to live in the mystery, to be surrounded by the unknown.

I am content to be a seeker, a pilgrim, a traveler on the road to nowhere.

Suddenly, I feel sorry for street corner hookers in short skirts and hose.

Happy Monday!!! Glad I crashed instead of staying up and watching the game. As I recall, SB3 was over before suppertime. Talk about rigged games. Looks like rain at work this afternoon. And it's going to be a busy week.

Junior is in town, so we'll go to supper tonight or tomorrow. That'll be nice. Seems he has a large client about 2 miles from the house.

And I need cuppa #2 . . . .

Sanity is madness put to good use.

Happy Wednesday!!! Basking in the quiet and peace before the maddening annoyances commence. Busy week all across the board. One damned thing after another.

It will be better with coffee . . . .

The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance - it is the illusion of knowledge.

~ Daniel I. Boorstin

Our goal while on this earth is to transcend our illusions and discover the innate power of our spirit. We are responsible for what we create, and we must therefore learn to act and think with love and wisdom and live in service to others and all life.

~ Caroline Myss

What people expect to happen is always different from what actually happens. From this comes great disappointment; this is the way the world works.

Hi, pussies!!!

About time to start tackling the taxes.

I spent a lot of 2023 untangling my complicated finances. All in anticipation of when I shuffle off this mortal coil. Simplifying has, ironically, made this years taxes even more complicated.

Someday I hope to get to use the 1040EZ.
John what you take on a Flat Tax base on the income and No Paperwork and no IRS because it is a Flat Tax

Now there's a topic to piss off all of the tax freaks. I think that, if I recall correctly, we of this thread tend to think that a value added tax is most fair. Don't buy shit? Don't pay shit. Working under the table? Not anymore, because we all come out from under the table that way. I think that it is most fair and most inclusive.

But I'm not a tax professional and I don't play one on TV.

They even do the addition and subtraction. You have to do your own multiplication. And filing is free on line. Didn't even need a stamp.

And, refunds come faster.

I use TurboTax home and business as a sole proprietor, plus I do taxes for some other small service corps, and others. I run it and then hand check it.
Knowing that lobbying of congress by TurboTax is the main reason why the IRS is prohibited from making filing easier… makes me completely unwilling to use their “services” under any circumstances. I would rather have to carve my tax returns on stone tablets than contribute one dime to their profits.

<Apologies for the rant.>
