two geeky jokes;

One night, sin, tan and cos are sitting together around a campfire, while e^x is all by himself. When someone asks him why he isn't with the other, e^x says: "I tried to integrate myself, but nothing ever happens."

Q- Who was the first computer technician?

A- Eve. She had an Apple in one hand and a Wang in the other

Hey, you're good for something, after all! :D

Definitely one of the best maths jokes EVER!!! :D

Then there was the constipated mathematician...

He tried to work it out with a pencil, but it came out as logs!

So would this 'Descarte' person be any relation of the 17thC French philosopher René Descartes?

If so, the OP may actually have a little humour.... I think.

Yours pedantically

Is it wrong that both my 16 year old and my 11 year old are also enjoying these jokes?

Here's one...

Q: Why are mathematicians confused about Halloween and Christmas?

A: 'Cause OCT 31 and DEC 25 mean the same thing.:D

:cool:

OCT is octal, base 8. And Dec is decimal, base 10. ;)

I'm surprised I'm still geeky enough to get that. :eek:

OCTal 31 = 3x8 + 1x1
DECimal 25 = 2x10 + 5x1

Both give binary 11001 = 1x16 + 1x8 + 0x4 + 0x2 + 1x1
or HEX 19 = 1x16 + 9x1
I'll have to trust you on this one:eek:

Here's one from the days of vinyl records;

"Everyone born in '45 was 33 1/3 years old sometime in '78."

(unless, of course they were born after August 1945,)

public static void main walks into a bar and asks for a beer and a sandwich.

"Get out!" the barman says.

"Why?" asks public static void main. "What did I do?"

"We don't cater for functions in here."

The Earl

Schroedinger to his wife: "You just couldn't resist could you? Well you can explain to the kids."

Just wondering, is that where the phrase 'curiosity killed the cat' came from?
