I do, and AIM, and yahoo. Once upon a time, I used trillian, so I could sign into all three (and all, er, 4 of my MSN accounts) at once, but those days are gone, and I IM a lot less now. PM me if you want my address, but I don't go on very often (and I don't do cybersex).
 
Can't pretend I look like Legolas.but I certainly don't have the outrageous look of the other character you said. Maybe a bit more like Yang Guo from the legend of condor hero. you're probably the only one outside of my friends who may know what i'm talking about, (in relation to Yang Guo, hopefully not with everything i talk about)

I haven't heard of paradise Kiss, Maybe I should seek it out if you think it is worth it.

Anyway, I think your legs are more than ok:) maybe you're not seeing the same picture I am.
 
Paradise Kiss is definitely girly manga. 5 Volumes, with an 'interesting' array of characters, including a transvestite who dresses like a Southern Belle called Isabella. However, there are sex scenes in it (not graphic, otherwise it wouldn't have the 13+ rating).

I've heard of Legend of Condor, ironically, it's from that gay guy I used to have a crush on (he's bilingual and is japanese, and watches everything in Japanese, lucky). *does search on yang guo*. Did you know Yang Guo is a Chinese name?

eta: there's a live action version of it in Chinese, just found out. Lead actress in it is somebody called Zhou Xun, who I've been told I resemble (not true--I'm just too generic so I look like everybody).

Didn't realise yang guo was chinese, although now you say it, it does seem obvious. i think it's just that a japanese company took on the production. Have you heard their is going to be a film of "Hero" soon. I can't wait for that. is 13+ the strict adult rating then? I seem to find sex i all the ones I read. Not on purpose of course although I don't complain.

what else are you into? and can you recommend good manga for me? I'm still a bit of a novice. I was always into more medieval based comics and books until about 2 years ago.
 
By the way, thought you might appreciate this: You should check out the whole site as well but this is relevent. Actually you may have heard of it allready as Marsipanne is a character but maybe thats just a coincidence.

I LOVE wire-fu flicks! I remember watching 'Once Upon a Time in China' when I was about nine or so, and became rather enamoured of Jet Li (I didn't know he was Jet Li until I saw the Engilsh version--I just watched always referred to him by the character name and the Chinese title of the movie--Huang Fei Hong). Huang Fei Hong is my favourite wire-fu movie though. I like Kill Bill Vol1, but I actually really dislike Crouching Tiger. I'll have to watch it again to remind myself why.

You'd think that the Japanese were a really sexed up culture but despite manga being so sexed up, apparently the Japanese are quite, I dunno, prudish? Not really prudish, but old-fashioned you might say. But it's the same for most oriental countries, I think. I mean, did you know that China has the lowest average of number of lovers per person (2)?

You get 18+ manga ratings, defintely, but I find the ratings system totally stupid. I mean, the volumes with sex were rated 13+ but the one of the ones without sex randomly went up to 18+. I think it was because of the swearwords. Oh, and all manga that comes here to the UK gets edited. I haven't read any in Japanese (obviously cos I can't) but I will start stocking up on manga that's in Chinese---it's cheaper over there and I need to practise my reading (Chinese speaking and reading/writing are completely different because the characters aren't sound-based). I have a friend who's Korean, and read Paradise Kiss in Korean and she said the sex scene was more graphic originally than in the UK version.

Recommendations.. hm, I'm not sure what you would like. Along more serious lines, you might like Inuyasha. I personally haven't read it, but it's got brooding heroes and that kind of stuff. Quests etc. For humour and perversions, try GTO and Love Hina. Love Hina is really funny. My icon is the character 'Motoko' from Love Hina. GTO is a bit more... perverted. Correction, it is VERY perverted. I was introduced to it by some male friends of mine. They think it's funny. Admittedly, it is, in a perverted sort of way.

eta: followed link. I didn't see the 'Marsipanne' character, but it is totaly coincidence that we've got the same name. I originally chose it because my birth month is March and Mars is the patron god of that month (also the name of one of my favourite mangas). The ipan came naturally afterwards, and I just decided to feminise it.
 
I think Crouching tiger had it's charm. Admittedly it had it easy as I don't think mainstream england had ever seen anything like it but I think I prefered the beutiful fight scene approach to the Kill Bill style. On that point, have you seen the second part? if the first was Pulp Fiction then the second was definately Jackie Brown. So boring with pointless purposely meandering dialogue. The only saving grace was the training scene.

I love Jet li though. Once upon a time in china was one of the first I saw as well, although I'll always remember the first time I saw Bruce Lee, no matter how dated it now looks.

Funny about the Japanese culture, though they do say that suppression breeds inner demons. Thats the way I've always thought of it though. It's quite a cool thought of the respectable prim culture and then all the hidden debauchery. I think there has to be that illusion of respectability to fuel the sexual side.

What else are you into besides manga then. I just seem to spend all my time either working, reading or mostly on music at the moment. I guess thats not a bad existence really.

i recommend Ninja scroll, in terms of kick ass, its one of the best and most relevant as you mentioned your interest in the medieval era, althought based in a different continent its the same timeline and is absolutely packed with action, not the best animation but does leave a lot of other manga in the dark (which adopts far to much still animation, i absolutely hate it....its a total cop out). Its based on fuedal Japan
if you can get past the oppressive regime of feudal japan (which most people do), its very enjoyable.

hey i have long hair... and i look like legolas, apart from i'm not white.....i don't have pointy ears.... was never considered good looking.......humm, i take that back, i'm probably more of a urakai....growl

The sword fight scene with the two leading ladies in crouching tiger is one of the finest choreographed action scenes in existence.... in my humble opinion

and ruled over the one in kill bill....... i'm really sorry bobby, i couldn't help myself

although the end where she jumps over the bridge (crouching tiger) was done soo badly it made me cringe

I might take another look at Crouching Tiger. I mean, I liked the fight scenes, but there was just something about it which I thought wasn't great. I only watched it once, when it first came out. I think I was hyped up that everybody was going on so much about this wire-flu flick, and then I saw it and I thought 'that's not exactly above average'. I think that the showdown at the House of Blue Leaves was pretty amazing; it was astonishingly brutal, and really got to me. Kill Bill 2 was not as good as Kill Bill 1, in my opinion. But then, there was less fighting. David Carradine was good though. I saw Pulp Fiction for the first time the other day. It was awesome.

What else am I into? Bah, just about everything. Fantasy. Writing, reading etc. Also some sci-fi and horror, but I have a fondness for romance and melodrama too. I like to be able to envision something amazing. Oh yeah, I'm into movies in general, but I'm not a patient person, so even though something like Lost in Translation was nice and sweet, I wouldn't watch it more than once. I like effects movies, swords'n'sandals, spectacle, beautiful leads etc. I can tell when a movie is crap though. I guess I'm sorta into music, but I think that I'd much rather read or draw. I also like watching sport, playing rts games, motor racing games, fighting games. I'm not that good at gaming anymore though, out of practice. I used to be unbeatable.
 
Way cool pic, Marsipanne, thanks. Certainly not fat, though maybe solid (hard to tell from the angle and light) -- and solid is good. And you're really good with an airbrush; I have trouble being sure where you touched up and where you didn't.

The manga has lost me. I've seen some anime, but haven't really delved into it. To each his or her own. Like Asian fetishes or Legolas hang-ups....
