USS Dark Fire (IC)

Bridge of HiiKii

“I’m not convinced Lieutenant Sol is that bad,” Hora said, stepping in to defend the Croco‑Lamia. She’d always had a soft spot for the towering reptilian officer.

“The Nietzscheans are that bad,” Captain Tygo countered, her tone leaving no room for debate. She turned back to Commander Reeves’ earlier question.“We’ve detected no signs of advanced sentience. A few amphibian species show low‑level intelligence—family‑pet cleverness at best. The HiiKii hoped to establish a handful of research outposts to study the ecosystem more closely.”

“Expanding your xenobiology database?” Hora guessed.

“Yes, but there’s a deeper motive.” Tygo’s frills shifted with a hint of unease. “As our technology has advanced, our people spend less and less time in the water. The HiiKii can breathe both air and water, but a vocal minority wants to restore balance—to return to a life where water isn’t an afterthought. This world could be perfect for them.”

“Fascinating,” Hora said. “Some humans feel the same way. They miss touching soil, growing food with their own hands. The Federation allows small agrarian colonies for that purpose. As long as they stay small, the environmental impact is minimal.” She paused. “But what about the Nietzscheans?”

“If the planet proves viable, we’d deploy a few warships alongside the colonists,” Tygo replied. “Nietzscheans prefer weak targets. A fortified settlement is far less appealing. But first, we need to finish our survey.”

“Captain, we’re receiving a massive data stream from the Orion vessel!” an officer called out, excitement rippling across the bridge.

Hora lifted a hand. “Captain Tygo, it’s actually a Federation ship. We’re a coalition of hundreds of worlds working together. I just happen to be Orion. Humans make up a large portion of our exploration and combat crews.”

Tygo blinked, then turned to Commander Reeves with a dry huff. “Then I suppose I have you to thank again. A federation of planets sounds like a logistical nightmare. I can’t imagine how you keep it functioning.” Her frills twitched with amusement. “Although… one of my engineers did report that he likes your Ensign Cook. Said she’s not nearly as bossy as most females. Perhaps you humans are just an amazing species”

Dark Fire:
“I wouldn’t be so quick to make assumptions about our females. Our Chief Engineer is female and is a bit of a task master, though she is a Trill, she’s just as hard on herself as she is on the ones beneath her.”

“Although Ensign Cook is calmer than most, for a Human.”

“And though Humans do make up a large portion of the Federation crews, they actually number about ten percent of our ship. The other ninety being made up of a diverse spectrum of species.”

“As for the governing of the Federation Each planet has a say in it’s own Government, each Government has a voice in the Federation. Entry is neither quick nor easy. We try to keep out species that just want to make war or are unwilling to help each other out. Self centered or selfish civilizations don’t generally work well towards a common unified goal.”

“But that also doesn’t mean our Federation is weak. We’ve reached out the hand, or tentacle, in friendship in the past and been punched for it. So we’ve adapted to be friendly, and willing to help the helpless, and beat up the bully.”

“Captain Tygo,” the Officer from earlier added. “The Data stream.. we can’t find a source. It’s coming from.. nothing. There is nothing out there on any of our sensors. It’s a Ghost ship.”

Reeves looked at the Captain and raised an eyebrow, it was her prerogative as to how much technology they revealed to the HiiKii.

Ensign Cook in Themu’s Quarters

Her voice is warm and steady, threaded with a quiet determination that refuses to bend. She knew she was pushing her limits—far past them, honestly—but she wasn’t about to let a HiiKii engineer think humans were fragile.

“Themu… I think I’ll have another,” Ensign Riley Cook announced, lifting her empty glass with the solemnity of a toast. The glass wobbled in her grip, betraying her drunkness.

Themu blinked with his odd frog-like eyelids in astonishment. “Riley… you are out‑drinking a HiiKii female who is twice your body mass!” His tone was equal parts admiration and disbelief. He was swaying too. “You are a remarkable female. A formidable drinker. And an even more formidable engineer. That trick you pulled—linking your tricorder to our weapons array—astonishing. I think… I think I love you.”

Riley studied him with soft, unguarded eyes. She didn’t see a towering four‑armed alien or the intimidating bulk of a HiiKii warrior. She saw someone exhausted by expectations, someone who had spent too long being strong for everyone but himself. Her expression held both compassion and a quiet, unshakable resolve.

“My grandmother used to say, ‘Every soul—no matter the species—yearns for connection.’” Riley’s voice dropped to a gentle murmur. “So let’s connect, Themu. I offer you my understanding… and my company. Though I’ll admit, I’ve never exactly bonded with a HiiKii before.”

Themu’s throat rumbled with a low, resonant sound—half laugh, half something more vulnerable. “And I have never bonded with a human,” he replied, his voice unexpectedly soft beneath its gravelly timbre.

He reached out, all four hands moving with surprising delicacy, drawing her closer—not with force, but with the tentative hope of someone who had never been offered gentleness before.

Riley didn’t pull away.

Hora

"Commander you can decloak the ship. Enough of the wounded HiiKii have seen our ship." Hora reasoned.

Dark Fire:
Tapping his comm badge Reeves gave orders. “Dark Fire, end cloaking. Maintain Yellow Alert continue scanning for any other ships.”

Seconds Later the HiiKii Officer fell backwards from his station, not even his tail holding him with how surprised he was. “Captain! The Orion Ship.. it’s massive. Length 2200 Metres. 800 Metres wide.. Approximately 30 Million Metre tonne.”

“By the Gods.. it’s bigger than a Nietzschean Destroyer. It’s less than 150 Metre from our Hull.”

“I apologize, we brought your ship in close to our hull to ensure our shields would protect you from the Hostiles.” Reeves explained. “Captain, we have the capacity to bring them into the port sided landing bay if you’d like while they continue repairs.”

“It would also facilitate our crews assisting them.”

Hora glanced toward Captain Tygo for confirmation. The HiiKii leader gave a small, affirmative nod, though her gaze remained fixed on the USS Dark Fire. Awe—and perhaps a touch of shock—still held her attention.

“Commander, another solid idea,” Hora said. “Bring the HiiKii vessel in with a tractor beam. Restrict their access to the repair bay unless they’re escorted by one of our crew. I want to avoid any accidental cultural missteps. And make sure everyone knows—no waving at the HiiKii.”

Hora turned back to Tygo. “Anything else we should be mindful of, Captain?”

“I think you’ve covered most of it,” Tygo replied. “But I’ll have our computer send your system a full list.”

“Our atmosphere is much drier than yours,” Hora added. “We’ll adjust the bay’s environmental settings to match your comfort levels. And once you’re settled, I’d be honored to give you a tour of the Dark Fire.”

“That would be wonderful,” Captain Tygo said, her composure finally settling into something like excitement.

Riley and Themu

Riley felt almost like she was 'attacked' by Themu. There were hands all over her. One holding and hugging her, two simultaneously worked on her big breasts. And the last one worshiping and massaging her inner legs and pussy. Riley moaned in delight and spread her legs more. With her pussy wide open, Themu filled the void, stroking and rubbing her clit. Riley's moans were slowly increasing in volume.

Until this encounter, virtual sex with Captain Hora had been tops. But after a few minutes of this attention, she was panting. Her big chest heave with each labored breath. Her whole body was undulating as her moans escalated.

Suddenly, Katrina's back arched almost violently, her thighs clamping around Themu’s hand between her legs as a devastating orgasm tore through her. It seemed endless, as she gasped and twitched and then had a squirting orgasm. Pearlescent rivulets of moisture trickle down her quivering inner thighs as her pussy rhythmically contracted around his hand. Themu stopped all his motions and marveled at the spectacle.

“Is that supposed to happen?” He asked.

“Only when the pleasure has been considerable.” Riley gasped trying to regain her breath. “My turn to please you”

Dark Fire:

Giving Hora a nod Reeves stepped to the side and gave the needed orders. Directing Security to have as many different species as possible present, without overdoing it with personnel. He wanted to show the diversity the Dark Fire had, but didn’t want to appear to be paranoid or suspicious.

The HiiKii ship pulled inside and settled on the deck as the climate controls adjusted to the HiiKii needs. A few of the present crew were in biosuits as they couldn’t tolerate the HiiKii environment without the protection.

The Vulcans in particular were exceedingly uncomfortable. “Captain Tygo, Our Xenobiologist would find copies of your biological database beneficial to the care of your species and any others we haven’t yet encountered. If you’re willing, that is. Also, if you have a linguistics database to facilitate communications and potential diplomatic relations with other species I’d appreciate. As well as anything else you’re willing to share. And none of that is required for our help. Just greatly appreciated.”

Riley and Themu

For a female human, Riley would absolutely recommend sex with a HiiKii. However, the opposite was not true.

“So you don’t have a penis or orgasms?” Riley repeated just to make sure she understood what Themu was saying.

“Correct, but I feel pleasure during my courtship dance and when I release my pheromone and sperm packets or spermatophore.”

“So I just stand here, and watch you, and then chase you once you release your pheromones?”

“Yes, let’s try” Themu said with excitement.

He got behind Riley, who was still naked, and grabbed her. Holding her tight, sort like a big hug.

“MMMM” Riley moaned, hoping that was the right thing to do.

“Oh, yes, make more noises like that” Themu said to encourage her. He released her and danced around her, and then grabbed her from behind again. His tail waving around like crazy. Riley moaned again

This went on for a minute or so, and then while Themu was dancing in front of Riley, his tail released his pheromones toward Riley. The smell was a bit musky, but did nothing for Riley. But she pretended to be crazy about Themu and chased after him as if playing tag.

She finally caught him, and she plowed her face into his tail as she was moaning. “Oh yes” Themu gasped and then he “laid” his spermatophore on the bed. His tail waving over the package.

“Now what do I do?” Riley asked.

“You grab the spermatophore and insert inside yourself” Themu explained, as if that step was obvious.

“Ahh, can I skip that step?” Riley asked

“Yes, but if you are ever with a HiiKii again, that can be a very sexy step for the male” Themu informed her.

“Good to know” Riley

Repair Bay

Captain Tygo released much of the knowledge Commander Reeves requested. It was however, somewhat basic. The common information for this region of space. Probably the best information was the language data, which the federation translators could use to more quickly translate for Dark Fire’s crew.

Captain Hora completed the tour for Captain Tygo and made it back to Commander Reeves. He caught him on the bridge

“Commander, I think we have some new friends in the Andromeda galaxy, the HiiKii. Great job with this encounter” Hora praised him. “Anything in their data about the silver parasite?”

Dark Fire:

“Possibly. Dark Fire is cross-matching data from several species to determine similarities. We have how ever determined that there are several minerals or compounds in this Galaxy that don’t exist in our own. And we have some they don’t.”

“We should have a full chemical structure breakdown within a few days. The HiiKii apparently use something called Tylium for fuel.”

“Several regions of space are designated as Hostiles, but no other information. But we do have more information on Nietzschean space and boundaries. A number of systems are in dispute. Including this one apparently.”

“The Empire is fairly large, at least as many systems as The Federation. So far there are no records of their ships. Hypothesis indicates they destroy or capture any non Empire ships. Much like the Borg used to. Stealthy and hiding in plain sight. We do have specifications for some of their smaller craft, but no Capitol Class ships.”

Hora

“Hmmm.” Hora tapped a finger against her chin as the briefing concluded, her eyes narrowing thoughtfully at the holographic map of hostile alien territories scattered across the region. After a long, contemplative pause, she finally spoke.

“Commander, did you know my name—Hora—is also the name of a human dance?” She didn’t wait for an answer. “The Hora is this wonderfully chaotic, high‑energy Jewish wedding dance. Everyone forms circles, holding hands or a handkerchief, spinning and stomping to lively music. And the best part? They hoist the bride and groom up on chairs like triumphant champions. It’s joyful, exhausting, and absolutely iconic.”

She stepped closer to the star map, eyes gleaming with inspiration.

“I propose we do a Hora through space. A series of dance‑like jumps—quick hops between star systems, unpredictable, rhythmic, difficult to figure out our next move. Our movements will be so erratic that any hostile species in this sector will be confused. High energy. Chaoic. with style.”

Hora clasped her hands behind her back, looking entirely pleased with herself.

“And if we’re lucky, the highlight of this cosmic dance will be finding allies—like‑minded people ready to join forces against the silver parasite. Perhaps even a wedding, if fate feels theatrical.”

She smiled. “So, Commander… shall we dance?" Then she clearified "Not you and I, but with the ship”

Dark Fire:

“Sending us on random trajectories and distances will prevent anyone from being able to track and plot our course. Did you wish to plot the random locations or have someone else do it?” Reeves asked, already thinking of whom could perform the calculations for the warp jumps if the Captain pushed it off.

“But to answer your question, yes we can perform this.. dance.. as you call it.”

***

Moving through the Engineering level Ensign Yito monitored multiple systems at once, most of the crew was sleeping now, and the ones on duty were performing routine tasks.

***

Major K’alena watched the repairs to the HiiKii ship from the Docking Control. The new aliens were interesting to say the least. But there technology was at least 200 years behind the Federation. Though they did have interstellar flight. Even if it wasn’t Warp drive as they understood it.
