Vampire Fantasy

"as for good conversation... Now that is something I think we both are indeed hunting for... but I feel... painfully inadequate... given Your... history.... and the fact that I am .. much younger than You... I am thinking You could probably tell me more about my own ancestors than I could.. "

"For a woman who doesn't want me to speak of her line, she choose to bring up an interesting subject n'est pas?" Charles said with a slight laugh to more himself at the irony of the subject. "Fine mon cher, I will slate your lust of knowledge of the family who's blood you bear. Well, allow me to tell you the truth of things with my encounter with the Van Helsing clan mon cher."

"It was the year 1830, about 30 years after I had been turned. Still a 'young pup' but the accounts of the vampires still around in those days. Most of the 'Old Eurps' as the whelps here call them were still alive. Dragula, Thiranduir, Ali, even 'Diablo' was still about. Wish I would've had the wits to see them while they were still going along n'est pas?"

Charles suddenly realized she was more interested in the 'Hunters' than the 'Hunted' as the Van Helsings would view it. "Well, I was in the lustrious streets of Paris. The wonderful chaos that was caused by Napolean and the Revolutions allowing this young pup easy meals before he had the age and wisdom to see beyond the simple things of the body. Before I had met a challenge, and something I would try to build up to my whole unlife. I met Abraham Van Helsing himself!"

"It was a stunning meeting. He came to Paris to help the Knights Templar whipe us out and cause things to be easier. Abraham even brought his son, Jude, to learn some lessons on Vampire Hunting. I didn't have the honour of facing him in battle. But if I did I fear I would not have the priviledge of sitting before you today. But I did however face Jude... Not as skilled as his father, but he was still learning after all. We chased each other through the streets of Paris... Sometimes him with the advantage, other times I. You see, maybe in the public eye you Van Helsings are hated... and maybe here in North America. But all the old orders in Europe... they made sure you all didn't end up jailed. Unlike today n'est pas? Most of the old orders are running out of people and connections. But then, sometimes Jude would come with a wing of Templar after me, other times I came with a wing of vampires after him."

Charles laughed to himself lightly, remembering the whole ordeal in the days when a Vampire had to be quick, and smart. "Little did we know we were honning each others skills. Both of us forced to our fullest to survive. Well after a week, the two of us met, just us. I was able to get in close and in close range, we vampires normally win. Unless you're stupid enough to let the other man get out a stake..."

Charles then begins to unbutton his shirt. He was wearing one of those fancy button-up dress-shirts. He has muscles, but they aren't like most who choose to go body builder. His are toned. Lithe. Built for dexterity and quick movements. He pulled back the right side to reveal the right side of his chest. And there was a large, rectangular shapped wound right next to his heart.

"Oh, he got me... Missed my heart by an eighth of an inch the surgeon said. Silver that close to the heart is still enough to throw off a vampire and I'm sure Jude thought he had me. Never met him again so I don't think he ever doubted it... But I choose to think, he saw something else and chose to miss out of respect of a good hunt. Of someone who can play the game of hunter and prey."

Charles then began to button up his shirt. "But that may just be me. After all, immortality does little for sanity." Charles said with a slight laugh. "I still don't know who you choose to deny such ancestors. Very 'noble'. Stong at the very least."

~ When He spoke... talking of her ancestors... Abraham.. Jude... her eyes involuntarily lit up... deep inside she missed her family... and their legacy... and to hear this old Vampire speak of them... she felt as if she were little once again.. sitting on her father's knee... hearing his stories... and such grand stories they were... always tempered a bit for her young ears... but they were still fascinating to her.. she could never get enough... until she herself put a stop to it... by abandoning her life...
Did she abandon? Or was she driven off... mattered not.. that was in the past... long since past....

Her eyes travel to the healed... scarred wound... Jude had indeed almost ended the life of this particular vampire... the wound had to have been horrific and deep... she searched her memory for stories of Jude... but this one was not one she remembered ever hearing.. perhaps because it was considered a ... failure.... the beast had lived after all...

Reaching out as He began to button up His shirt... she stopped Him... letting her fingers trail over the wound... she then looked down to her boot... and with her other hand.. withdrew... slowly.. so that He knew there was no threat... the stake.... the polished silver gleaming in the dim flicker of fire light from the nearby hearth... along the side of the stake.. engraved... were 2 names... her own.. which her Father had put there when he presented the stake to her... and....

Jude...

The wound and the stake that had inflicted it.. so close together ... so many years later....~

When he saw the stake, Charles was curious. The stake looked familiar... and then he saw the name and a smile came to Charles' lips. The one stake in his nearly 250 years to come close to striking home. Truly a work of craftsmanship with it's fine make and that it's still useable after nearly two centuries. Most weapons began to fade but this one still had all the details, and other holy symbols on it that it had when it pierced him. Well, with an additional name of course...

"Ah, a prize indeed mon cher." Charles said, a nostalgic tone to his voice. "Family heirloom I take it?"

"Ah, a prize indeed mon cher." Charles said, a nostalgic tone to his voice. "Family heirloom I take it?"

"Yes... " ... Karess turned the stake over and over in her fingers.. feeling the cool.. smooth surface... she even tested the sharpened edge... and it was honed to a razor's edge... "My father gave this to me ... I heard many stories of Jude using this stake... but had never heard... Yours..."

Deftly she slipped it back in her boot... she had taken hours and hours to restore the silver to it's orginal sheen.. and despite her ... turning away... from her family... that stake meant alot to her... hell it had saved her life... and.. thankfully... it was NOT the stake she had used to kill... her Lover...

She paused then as she looked back up at the Vampire... a shiver ran down her spine.. as if someone were... well.. walking over her grave.... she did not like the chill she felt.. and her eyes looked over her... guest... to the others in the bar... as if trying to pinpoint where that chill was coming from... but nothing.. no one stood out to her.. no one at all... she leveled her gaze back to the Vampire and had found that she had.. perhaps without thinking... moved closer to Him... ~

*Yall, there are way too many storylines going on in this thing. Let's keep it simple, okay? Thanks. Anyone can join, but I would prefer if people keep with the story I started. Like, the guy coming in walking through the woods. The seeting is in a bar.*

OOC: There aren't too many storylines, I think. To be honest, there wasn't much of a storyline set out in the beginning. The dude in the forest might take a couple posts to get into the swing of things, but it was just an intro. Anyways...

IC: Kirin swept back up to the bar, ordering another expensive drink. Leaning back against the worn wooden bar, he surveyed the room for the first time in several hours. Several new faces had entered, one wearing a spicy little corset/skirt combo. Kirin appreciated the view of her smooth legs extending from beneath the short front of her skirt, but the appeal of her leather corset was certainly not lost on him. Something about a nice, snug, leather corset had always made him look twice. Sipping his cool, amber scotch, his gaze swept the scene once more, hoping to find more prospects like his previous company.

(OOC: I too think things are going fine... Joker's character will find the bar... where we are... or perhaps my character will go out for air.. and encounter his... I think it is flowing along just fine... I know I am enjoying myself... )

As Gaven walked through the forest he heard a branch snap, he didn't bother to turn around. "Who's there?" he said. A gruff cough and snapping branches echoed throughout the forest. Turning around Gaven saw a heavyset old man, scratching his scruffy beard the old man looked at Gaven. "Sorry didn't mean ta startle ya...thought ya were a...a vamp.." started the old man.

Gaven shook his head and looked at the old man. "Where can I find somewhere to rest?" said Gaven. The old man scratched his white hair, he had a bald spot in the middle of his head, pointing northeast he nodded. "There, not even a mile ahead, the forest will end if you head that way, small town...you should find a good spot to rest." said the old man. Gaven turned around and began to walk in the direction he pointed.

After walking for an hour the forest ended, the opening was behind a inn, he could hear the sounds of people in the building. He walked into the street looking around for the bar, or somewhere to rest his tired body...

Charles smirked as he saw her scootch, ever so slightly towards him. A Van Helsing getting this close. Close enough to touch... and smell... and feed... And she did it willingly. If Abraham could see this now. He's probably rolling over in his grave as they spoke. Truly, this is something he was enjoying.

"Yes... " ... Karess turned the stake over and over in her fingers.. feeling the cool.. smooth surface... she even tested the sharpened edge... and it was honed to a razor's edge... "My father gave this to me ... I heard many stories of Jude using this stake... but had never heard... Yours..."

"Oh, I can see why they said nothing mon cher." Charles said lightly, his face holding it's soft beguiling smile. "Would you tell the story of how you went toe to toe with a vamp and neither got the win? I tell it because for vampires, it's a thing of pride to survive a Van Hellsing. But for you lot? You reapers of the damned?"

Charles laughed lightly to himself thinking of their reaction to it. Maybe they even thought to this day he was dead... Who knows? But the idea of shaming their defeat instead of learning from it is entertaining. Maybe if she did, she wouldn't have gotten so close.

"Probably broke poor Dr. Hellsing's heart mon cher if he had found out of his little heirs failure. And instead of learning, they did the fools mistake of burrying. And let me tell you, things burried don't always stay down below n'est pas?"

~ she felt that chill.. almost seeming to get closer... sometimes she truely did not like her 6th sense...

Turning to Charles.. "A thing of pride to survive a Van Helsing" she repeated back to Him... "perhaps... I see it more of a victory to survive an encounter with one of You... I will not sit here and boast that because I am a Van Helsing... I am invincible.. that got my father killed.... and I am sure my grandfather... and great grandfather... I have been............................................................ "

She stopped there... her hand reaching up to trail her fingers along the supple column of her throat... she could still feel the scars... barely there... but there... of where she had been bitten... twice...one tried to kill her.. but she had managed to slip the stake from her boot and impale Him... the other had been.... Kraven....

Her attention turned from her own thoughts back to Charles.. she did not realize... having been lost in her memory... that He too had moved... closer... to her....

"things burried don't always stay down below n'est pas?"

"Sometimes .. things burried don't always stay... dead... I will agree with that... Charles... I will agree with that"...

She grasps her wine... taking a long taste... she knew she should not be drinking while sitting here with a Vampire... but this night she needed the... relaxation.. that the wine provided... and .. for some reason... she needed... His company.... ~

Charles watched her closely, moving in slightly. No, he agreed not to attack her. But nothing said she couldn't give into him willingly and it looked like she might do just that. This little Van Hellsing had so little self-discipline it was astonishing she had ever been a hunter. Not that he was complaining...

And that's when he saw it. On her neck... hardly visible but his keen vampiric senses picked it up. A couple of scars on her neck suddenly screamed out to him. His mind was suddenly racing though his face didn't show it. He decided to bid his time to reveal his knowledge.

Charles had moves closer and was nearly touching her. Weaking vampires would give into the sweet scent of the Van Hellsings, but Charles was older and wiser. To just jump ahead would result in his demise. After all, if a Hunter breaks the rules, they're free game to all the Vampires and normally don't get much help. And the same goes for a Vampire who breaks the rules.

"You seem distraught though... Willing to tell old Charles what's on your mind then? Or do you just want to wait till it breaks up at an unfortunate time? Afterall, as you Hellsings know, it's better to just stake it then let it keep going..." Charles said calmly, and with a slight chuckle at the end.

~ He had caught her on a bad night... that was for sure... too many memories... on a night that brought back too many feelings...

She knew she should not have let Him close... she should have just told Him to get lost the moment He approached her... but she.. she was sooo damned tired of being alone...

"You seem distraught though... Willing to tell old Charles what's on your mind then?"

Her own mind was racing... She had not hunted.. or killed .. in such a long time... she wondered if she even could anymore.. not that she would... she had made that vow long ago... after killing Kraven.. the stake... was for protection... but she was soo good at deflecting mortals and vampires alike who approached her... she never even needed the stake... or the dagger strapped to her upper thigh... the crossbow and whip were at home... dusty from non-use... she felt as if life were ... over for her... she would be alone.. for the length of her life.. which were many years... many many years... Van Helsings tended to never age or die... unless killed while... hunting.. by a Vampire...

Was that why she let this... Vampire.. approach her? So that He could ultimely ...kill her???

"Oh I can not imagine One such as Yourself would be interested in what is on the mind of a mere mortal... but then again... at least to You.. I am not a... mere mortal.. am I"...

She reached out and.. yes.. actually touched His hand... letting her fingers dance lightly over the cool surface of His skin ... it had been such a long time since she had even touched anyone... let alone a vampire... ~

Charles smiled as she ran her hand along his, he keep still and let her explore to her pleasing. After all, who is he to stop a Van Hellsing?

"Oh I can not imagine One such as Yourself would be interested in what is on the mind of a mere mortal... but then again... at least to You.. I am not a... mere mortal.. am I"...

"Who would not find you intering mon cher?" Charles said with a smirk, watching her carefully for her reactions and actions. "After all, I can't have you just stepping down and fading out Mon Cher. Too much respect for you Van Hellsings just to let you become nothing."

"Too much respect for you Van Hellsings just to let you become nothing."

"Maybe it is time for us to become... nothing... there are no others... Charles... my father never had a son... I am his only child... much to his... disappointment... yes He trained me... yes I hunted at one time and killed... but I never gave him a grandson... hell... I committed the worse sin a Van Helsing could ever committ.... I fell in love with a Vampire... "

She stopped there.. and drew her hand away... in fact.. she stood up.. walking to the nearby window... gazing out at the night sky... she was still spooked... but now moreso by her letting much to much information spill past her lips... yet it felt good... to let some of that emotional burden out...

She stood there.. arms wrapping around her body... her long crimson braid hanging down her back... looking like a bleeding gash that was almost the length of her spine...

"I fell in love.. with a vampire.." she whispered to herself again... "Kraven.. I miss You"... she let her eyes close... the moon's cool reflection dipped into the window and over her skin... ~

"I fell in love.. with a vampire.." she whispered to herself again... "Kraven.. I miss You"

And everything fell into place. That's why she stopped hunting. That's why she's disowned. That's why she's in this bar. And that's why she has those scars on her neck. Charles sat up from his chair, stepping up behind her and placing his chill hands on her shoulders. Softly, tenderly, and in a non-threatening manner.

"Ah... so that's why you're so quiet with this mon cher..." Charles said softly with a slight smile. "It'll be our little secret then n'est pas? But since I know this much, you might as well tell me more. You've gotten me... curious."

Charles again would not push, nor say anything, or even draw conclusions. No, he'd let HER tell him everything. He'd let Karess reveal all the details he'd want to know. And with it, more than likely one of her final errors.

She'd let an unfed vampire know all her weaknesses.

~ What Karess *should* have done... was push Him away.. not let Him touch her... not let Him so close to the warmth of her body... but the feel of His chilled palms to her shoulders... felt too.. familiar to her... and her breath caught... and for that moment... that one moment.. it wasn't Charles... it was Kraven... in her mind's eye she saw Kraven .. felt Him... felt His touch... and she let a low moan slip past her lips....

It was His voice that snapped her back to the here and now.. the lonely here and now..

"Ah... so that's why you're so quiet with this mon cher..." Charles said softly with a slight smile. "It'll be our little secret then n'est pas? But since I know this much, you might as well tell me more. You've gotten me... curious."

"There is not much to tell... Kra... Charles... " she had caught her slip... "I hunted vampires... that is obvious... and hell.. I was pretty good... I may have not had the... tact .. that my father and grandfather had.. or the... wits... for that matter... but I held my own... heck Your kind came... to me... killing them was easy... Until I met.... " .... she stopped... her eyes closing... and she leaned into Him... she knew she was putting herself in danger... yet she just no longer cared...

"I met... Kraven Blackthorne... how we met does not matter... but the attraction.. was instant... and... lethal... we could not get enough of each other... and I let Him... I let Him.... "..... her breath slips out... trembling... "feed".....

"It ended... the night I staked Him... "

Tears rolled down her cheeks now... warm... salty... and she could no longer stop them... she was silent now... not sure if letting that out helped... or hurt more... ~

Charles whiped the tears that made their way down her cheeks off for her with his left hand, his right soothingly caressing her right shoulder. He moved softly and tenderly, and most importantly, and attempt at soothing her.

"I'm not your Kraven cher, but I know of what it's like to loose. I lost all my things I had when I became a vampire." Charles said softly. "Nothing comes without a price. As was that brief, bright moment of love you had. Your suffering is the cost for it."

"But the question you need to ask yourself... was it worth it? Would you take it back?"

Charles could feel the time to strike coming soon... so sweetly soon.

"But the question you need to ask yourself... was it worth it?"

"yes" she whispered... she would not have given up her time with Kraven for anything...

"I have never loved another ... or will I.. like I did Him... "

She felt Charles ever so gently wipe away a stray tear from her cheek... the touch felt... almost alive.. to her... the memories flooding her mind... His touch so familiar.. and at the moment so wanted...

"I know of what it's like to loose. I lost all my things I had when I became a vampire."

She was still leaning back into Him... the gentle caress of her shoulder was... soothing... and she welcomed it.. even tho she knew she should stop it... He was much to close... she could almost feel His breath upon her throat... He was sooo close....

"How... How did it happen?" she whispered... and she knew He knew what she ment... she was asking Him how He was turned... usually she cared less.. a vampire was a vampire.... but this One... was so very different... ~

"How... How did it happen?"

Charles smirked, thinking how much he was like her on that matter. Except, by the looks of things, she had the skill to break his embrace before it became more... permanent than others.

"Very simple... I got too close to a vampire mon cher. And ended up in a crypt for it." Charles said in his same calm voice, as that hand moved and began to caress her neck.

He could feel the life beating flowing within it. Feel her heat for Kraven fueling a new flame he was beginning to stir. The tenseness of her training. The emotions of her suffering. All bringing together to a delicious smell.

Charles just wanted to go in for the kill... no. He would wait. He would make her beg him, and make her go willingly with him.

No rules broken. No laws twisted. Little questions asked.

~ Fingertips touching... feather light.. long the supple column of her throat... her breathing quivered... she felt her own fingers curl into fists.. as her mind screamed at her... "STOP... HE IS GETTING TOO CLOSE"... but her fingers relaxed from their clenched position.. as instead .. she let her head lay back slightly to His shoulder.. the subtle caress welcomed... It had been so long since anyone had gotten this physically close to her... since she had let anyone...

"Now I have to ask the same question of You... Charles... was it worth it?"

She let the words slip from her lips... and as she spoke.. her throat rippled slightly with the gentle vibrations...

She could scent His hunger... she had missed it before... why had she missed it... why had she let herself miss it... her mind went back to her original question...

Did she let Him close to her... a hungered Vampire.. because she knew He... could kill her if He ... desired.. and... she let Him??? ~

"Now I have to ask the same question of You... Charles... was it worth it?"

"I wouldn't trade that for all the noble titles of of France. The battles. The lovers. The Van Hellsings." Charles said lightly, his fingers continuing their motions. The tempting target before his eyes. Drawing him... Her neck was completely exposed. She was defenseless! No... not now... Too many eyes, and more importantly she hadn't fully said she was willing.

Charles would not break the rules and have himself destroyed.

"And it's not so bad today with blood banks being formed. Those whom don't like the kill can just got and fetch up a little O+ if they felt like it." Charles said with a light hearted tone.

"But Karess... you hunters are rarely interested in the good that can be found in the dark places..."

~ she listened to His words... but had not expected that little twist of humor...

"Those whom don't like the kill can just got and fetch up a little O+ if they felt like it." Charles said with a light hearted tone.

Her breath caught at that ... and then she... laughed... lifting her head from the relaxing postion on His shoulder to glance up at Him.. She felt His fingers tighten for a moment around her throat.. not wanting to give up their.. claim...

"that .. is a cute idea... but..." she paused... letting her head lay back to His shoulder... as His fingers began that trailing along her flesh... as if tracing the life giving artery beneath... "Predators like their blood fresh.. warm.. and ... screaming... as opposed to scavengers.. who prefer it... cold and dead... and I do not see most Vampires as scavengers.... especially not... You... Charles..."

She paused... listening to His deep voice speak.. so very close to her ear she could feel the warmth of His breath...

"But Karess... you hunters are rarely interested in the good that can be found in the dark places..."

"Surely You realize now... I am not hunting... Unlike Yourself... Charles... I know You hunger.... How.. long has it been since You last ... fed... Charles... Your hunger slithers around You like a serpent.. "

"that .. is a cute idea... but..." she paused... letting her head lay back to His shoulder... as His fingers began that trailing along her flesh... as if tracing the life giving artery beneath... "Smart girl..." Charles said softly, his tone hardly shifting. "A little slow, but still smart. You know, I could just pounce on you know like some ordinary predator... But I am not an ordinary predator. I am Charles d'Orleans. And I am swore not to do anything to you, if you are... unwilling."

"I won't hid my intentions behind a lie any more... I don't intend to kill you. I don't intend to turn you. But your blood is a tempting gift that no vampire would give up. The blood of a Van Hellsing..."

Charles moved his hands lower, beginning to trace the sweet line of blood back to her heart. Her broken, pained, suffering heart. The thing that made him even capable of touching a fully concious, capable Van Hellsing out of battle. Not even noticing that he was drawing over to her breast, more caught in the prize beneath than the prize without.

"A line which shouldn't be extinct..."

"Smart girl..." Charles said softly, his tone hardly shifting. "A little slow, but still smart. You know, I could just pounce on you know like some ordinary predator... But I am not an ordinary predator. I am Charles d'Orleans. And I am swore not to do anything to you, if you are... unwilling."

~ she took a deep breath... she did not move.. she was much too comfortable.. and the feel of His fingers along her throat was almost hypnotic...

"A little slow... You say... yet.. how do You know that I perhaps.. have allowed You near... for reasons of my own... You seem to think.. Charles... that for a Van Helsing... I have lost my... edge... I have not lost anything... I gave it up... the night I killed Kraven...."

She felt His hand ... His fingertips.. begin to trail downwards... following that pulsing trail of life ... to the origination point... her beating heart.. brushing over her breast.. she hissing softly... the light touch bringing a slight shudder to her body... a almost silent moan barely makes it past her lips... It had been so long.....

Her eyes were lidded... beneath a veil of dark lashes... His words snaking within her lonely mind...

"your blood is a tempting gift that no vampire would give up"

"if you are... unwilling."

"Unwilling..." she murmered... "Do you consider me... unwilling.. when in such a position as ..... this?... Charles"
