*he nods at what she says, he then lays down in the bed pulling the cover over him*"Thanks for having them bring me up here"

Leon tsked under his breath.

'So difficult to find a really understanding establishment'

His companion waved aside his comment. Leon studied him. A dignified, elderly man with thinning silver hair, Matthew Brennan looked more like a successful, no-nonsense businessman than a high-ranking member of a society of mystics. Of course, he was the former too. Brennan was one of the few senior members of the Order Leon was often in accord with on Hermetic policy. They were long-term allies in council, and Leon found it galling when Brennan pulled rank on him, even unconsciously.

He scrubbed aimlessly at the floor for a few moments.

'Did I ever tell you of my Awakening?', asked Brennan suddenly.

Bemused, Leon shook his head.

Brennan smiled wryly. 'I was initiated into the Masons. Slowly gaining rank, being told more secrets, seeing a little more of the truth at each new level. That's the way an initiation should be: slow, careful and orderly'

He paused, and sighed. 'But you and I both know it's not the way things can be any more. Our Masters have disappeared, the vampires are breeding like vermin, and the End Times are at hand. All Hell is soon to break lose', his smile was thin, 'Literally, and the Order needs to be strong'

'You want to step up our recruiting?', asked Leon doubtfully. 'That's not easy. Awakening happens to so few...'

'Nevertheless, Talbot. I want you to stay around this club. It acts as a magnet for those with power. Locate and try and recruit any you find'.

Leon sneered. 'This club? As far as I can see, it's a happy hunting ground for vampires and those idiot Sleepers who hunt them'

'You do not see everything, young adept!', snapped Brennan, suddenly angry. He quickly calmed.

'Forgive me. I am tired. And you have much work this night and the coming nights'

Leon took the hint, and with a desultory last swirl of the mop, left the lounge for the bar-room of the club

a tall man walks into the club, he stands about 6'2" and around 250lbs.....very well muscled....he wears a tank top and leather pants......dark hair and icy blue eyes......he walks with an unnatural confidence and goes to a corner table, sitting against the wall and sniffs the air and smiles.."a whole assortment here," he chuckles under his breath.

New Thread?

Are we not going to made a new thread for the regular story line. And limit the posts a day to about 5 to help out everyone else?

Deciding not to wait around and see who the mysterious figure was behind her, echoe turned and ran into the club. Panting and shaking with fear she drew a little interest from a few curious 'people'.
Calming down, Echoe shook her head. "What's wrong with me? It was probably just.. some guy." Feeling a bit unsettled she decides she need something strong to drink.
Wandering over to the bar Echoe says to the barman, "Give me your strongest cocktail" with her cute Australian accent.
Echoe sat down, took a gulp of her cocktail and looked around her. There was so much power here, it was so arousing.
"Maybe I could find a mentor here," wondered Echoe aloud.
Suddenly, standing in front of her was a handsome, sexy man. Running her eyes over him she couldn't remember him walking over... Echoe fell into his eyes and couldn't pull herself away from them. Slowly, her cocktail fell from her hand as she fell into a trance...

Leon

Leon studied her. Small, pretty, amazing green eyes... and a sense, in those beautiful eyes, of seeing more than the surface. A fine possibility.

He stepped smoothly over, and, removing his shades, opened his mouth to speak. She stared at him for the longest time, making him feel strange, burning pressure across his body. Her cocktail fell to the floor with a sudden crash.

She was in a trance.

'Happens a lot here', muttered a nearby patron, a Goth with piercings all over his body. Leon glared at him until he returned to his drink, then reached out a hand to touch the girl on the cheek.

He muttered a few words of Enochian, wishing he had more time for a full spell, then carefully placed a little pressure on the girl's mind, trying to bring her back into consciousness.

Echoe awoke dreamily, still staring into the handsome stranger's eyes,
"Do I know you?" she murmured, aware of his hand on her cheek. She rubbed her cheek against his hand and almost purred.
Nothing mattered to Echoe anymore. The only thing she wanted was to remain in contact with this stranger. His power was overwhelming, she could feel him in her mind. Echoe shivered and then awoke completley,
"Who are you?" asked Echoe, but in the back of her mind she really meant, "Why would such a powerful being as you be interested in such a weak practiser of magick as me?"

Leon

The touching of minds was electric, tantalizing. Leon had to force himself to withdraw his own mind from the girl's for fear he would simply dig deeper and deeper and lose himself in her. A prospect that was almost tempting.

He withdrew his hand from her cheek slowly at the same time, again wanting it to linger, to trace the outlines of her cheekbones. Undoubtedly this girl had power.

'My name is Leon Talbot', he said, ice blue eyes intent on her. 'How are you called?'

Echoe

The powerful stranger started to take his hand away from Echoe's face and this saddened her. She also sensed his mind removing itself as well. The girl cried out softly in sadness at it's removal and tried to draw him back somehow, but he left her mind and she realised how empty she had felt before.

"Echoe," she whispered as his eyes seemed to pierce through her soul, "I was searching for a name to call myself, for revealing my birth name could be dangerous, when a voice called to me, in an echo, "A name is this, name is this, name is this..." and so on and so forth. I never found out who it was..."

"But, Leon, what are you?" Echoe said with a frown, "I don't understand how you achieved such powers."

With more courage Echoe ventured, "Instruct me..." and reached out with one hand to touch Leon's face, wanting to feel his power.

Leon frowned.

'Echoe. It is a good name'

She touched his cheek and Leon shivered. He could feel her potential for power, blazing within her.

'I am a mage', he said, 'As are you. Our souls have awakened, the part of us that can alter reality'

He moved closer to her, breathing in her power. 'Humankind could be as gods', he whispered, 'All of them have the potential. But they choose to remain asleep. I am of a group known as the Order of Hermes, the greatest of the Nine Traditions that keep the ways of magick alive. We can teach you much...'

Echoe looked confused, 'Has my soul awakened?'

Leon finished saying, 'We can teach you much...'
'Oh, and how I want to learn,' craved Echoe, 'I will do anything that is required of me, I shall be a servant to you if I must. In fact, I would find that an honour.' said Echoe with a mischevious look on her face.

Echoe wondered if she was being too humble, but she felt that it was necessary for one of such high magickal standing.

'How many beings ... of the Order of Hermes ... are there?' faltered Echoe over the unfamiliar words.

'I have no family or friends that would miss me, I will travel anywhere, and do anything,' said Echoe, bowing her head. She would do anything for this honour and it was something she had always dreamt about - she had often had strange dreams of herself performing incredible feats, always with the same people, who were familiar to her in the dream, but not in real life. Echoe mentioned these dreams to Leon,
'What do they mean? Or are they just the fantasies of a lost girl'

Echoe tried to concentrate on Leon's eyes again, and focus, to enter his mind. Sighing, she was not surprised when she failed.

'Please, teach my your ways. I will be eternally grateful to you.' said Echoe.

Leon

Leon smiled at her.

'I make you my apprentice. I will teach you the Hermetic craft, as I had it from my master, and she from hers, all the way back in an unbroken link to the magi of old'

He touched her forehead with his fingers, brushing a complex Hermetic sigil across. Her forehead was hot, and once again he let his hand linger there, on her face.

'You dreams are significant. You are not lost anymore, Echoe. You will join us, and we are strong. It may be that this world of darkness is coming to an end, but you can stand by our side and we will rebuild a better'

Leon let it flow out, his soft words fuelled by the expression of her haunted green eyes. Impulsively, he grasped her by the shoulders and tilted her face towards his.

'It is done. I initiate you as apprentice into House Jannisary, of the Order of Hermes'

That's fair enough, although posts flow much better as exchanges rather than single, static statements (hmm... too much alliteration there..) in the middle of a thread. Should we have guidelines on how much to post per day, or just the awareness not to go too far ahead?

re:re:silverbullet

just awareness of how many times you've posted........and how far ahead you are.......

LOL!!!

Well you certainly had time to post about not being able to post

This like any other thread involves interaction...unless you had an idea where you wanted to take this, let us have fun.

Not trying to pee on your parade either, but I like to post more than once a day.

laugh if you like....

i was asked to post about it.......and i haven't noticed how anyone has even bothered finding out if there is a certain place i want this to go.........i do not appreciate some one who asked to play telling me how i should run my thread.....if this makes you mad i'm sorry......but that's how i feel......

Honestly...

We can't be expected to *ask* if the thread has a direction or not. Most threads on Lit are just winding narratives which can go in any direction at all. If you want direct control of the plotline, you post as the almight GM (or ST) in this case, telling us about it. I'm perfectly cool with slowing down IC posts, but it's just ridiculuous to suddenly pull rank now

it's always the same.....

this was to be my last attempt at online rolep;aying.....every other time it's gone the same way.....arguments starting over people not getting a chance to respond.......i was only trying to maintain peace....and since i have a bit of experience (13 years) i figured i could maintain it......but if it's gonna cause more fighting than constructive playing....i'll bow out and leave you all this thread with my best wishes.......

Not trying to upset you, but we would like to RP, but we just dont want to have to wait forever...I appreciate your RP experience...but unless a thread has recurring reponses it tends to die quickly
