Vivienne
She sank down on the sofa and allowed her upper body to recline back into the cushioned velvet. She crossed her legs neatly and rested one arm on the side arm of the couch. "I hope you're not uncomfortable. Nobody has ever died here that I'm aware of. You really are quite safe, this is one of the few true safe havens you'll find." She was hoping the light touch of humor might help him to be more at ease and she accomapnied it with a tender smile.
Vivienne's mansion, her entire estate, was in fact a very safe place as long as her rules were followed. Since her refugees had always been vampires, the rules mostly entailed not killing people and relying on her to provide hosts in the older days and blood in the later days. There were five, now empty, bedroom upstairs and five miniature, compacted versions of the mansion existed in the form of cottages in the back. Up unter motorized vehicles had really become popular, Vivienne had kept a full stable of carriage ponies and riding horses. Now she walked or found a private cab if she needed to go someone. She'd never taken the time to learn how to drive. Afterall, she had wings and the ability to levitate as well, a car was only necessary for appearances.
She pondered over his solution to the elders but still could find no possible way to make it work. Even if she could get them seperated, and one agreed, the others would simply hire a hunter to kill that one. She sighed a little and looked at him when she realized it had been allowed. "Honestly, I can't fathom a way to stop the elders short of their destruction. There is only one I might be able to talk some sense into and they wouldn't listen to him and he's dreadfully loyal to them." She wanted to be able to tell him there was some magic solution that they could put into action the very next day, but there wasn't one to her knowledge. "If true evil can exist in one once human, you will find it in the elders. I'm ashamed to say I am an elder. They were able to revoke position as a national mistress, but once you become an elder, they can't take that title from you. It was a safety net they invented for themselves."
