Books, books and more books. All I ever ask for are books.
Takes me about a year to read the pile I amass.

I am from Toronto... but I just wanted to mention that some of the best experiences I have had with girls(both sexual and non) have been from vancouver.

Thank you!

Gonna be easter weekend in Vancouver, any good tips what to do? Ok, I know, this is not the travel board, but I have a tuesday morning appointment but already arrive friday, and dont know anything about that city (heck, that will be my first trip to canada to start with). So, what are your tips?

TY
me (who probably should just invest in a guide book)

Sweetgirl, it depends on your interests. Vancouver's got some fun things, like Stanley Park or Queen Elizabeth Park, the Planetarium, Science World, the U.B.C. Museum of Anthropology, Beacher (brrrr this time of year), LOTS of restaraunts...so, give us an idea of your interests. Is it a whole family visit? You and your signifigant other? With pals? Solo?

Heya,

thanks for the tips sofar! I planned on meeting with an old friend there, but I would bet high stakes he will stand me up (hint: never have an affair with a married guy..but then, that is where the word affair comes from, right?). He wanted to take me skiing, but I guess I will do the normal sightseeing route instead.

Love the idea with the antrophology museum, will probably enjoy a walk on the beach, and gonna buy a guide-book when I am there, LOL. Gives me at least time to explore the city and find out if I like it there (plan on going to grad school there, purpose of the trip is to see the university).

Depending how big your 'midwest' home is, Vancouver often seems surprisingly small and close knit for a 'big' city. Full of friendly people, thank goodness.
UBC or SFU?

I am from Munich originally...considered the largest "little village" by many, so that sounds pretty perfect. And hey, I am used to rain. Can only be better than the piercing wind on the Great Plaines.

UBC. Never planned on venturing to Canada, but its a top school in my field and Bush seriously drives me nuts... would be nice to be treated by a country like a visitor, not like a criminal who just is there and happens to spend a lot of money.

Aha! leather trousers and fat man slapping their thighs! Oh yes, I know all the cliches. ;)

Canada welcomes anyone with money, and many without it, just check the immigration figures (as an immigrant I feel entitled to say that).
Carillon is a student here in Vancouver, she might know some 'student' things to do to get acclimated.
Its been the fog getting me down over the past few days.
European = liberal = pinko = anti-american. Didn't you know that? :p

pssstt...dont tell anyone that I made an anti-american statement or they will catch me next time I immigrate....with the patriot act they can do whatever they want it seems.

I have a huge student loan, that should qualify me for no-money :) But then, I am only young once....

psst ... walls have ears!
Depends how much you want to go back to the windy mid-west after you spend time here, I suppose, sweetgirl. Burning bridges can be fun!

A very HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR to the Westcoast Peepl's
that includes you {{{{{{Chitty~~&~~ BI}}}}}}:rose:
