It doesn't take a while to load for me, it finishes quite promptly.
It loads a nothing discord with no text channels.
Seems curious, though, that others seem to see the image just fine.
Did Richard mean you need to be a member of Discord in general, or a member of a specific Discord he's running?
I can click straight from the broken link to the other Discord channels I'm a member of, and those work perfectly fine, so I'm clearly logged in.

Morning all, sorry about the Discord troubles. It's our thread and WE don't really understand the workings. It shouldn't be so damn complicated; it seems that the effort is put into making the site look flashy rather than intuitive.

I've been a bit busy but will try and work something out. Others who visit Discord regularly don't have a problem...Binns, Aonsevern, etc. perhaps they can throw some light on the difficulty. 🤔

I could just try linking the whole thread.

Linking to SP is a so so process; it takes a bit of fiddling loading up and linking just a couple of pics..........for full sets etc it's worth it. Just thought I would try a "simple" link to Discord for a change.

Hi guys the link works fine for me, I am a member at discord and I use a VPN to access because of the whole proof of age BS. Just a thought. I’ve never tried linking I always just upload, don’t like to complicate things.

See, I didn't even get asked for a proof of age or any mature content warning.
Discord treated it like I went to a Discord that didn't even exist.
I only belong to two other Discord channels, and those are both 18+ channels, and I could see those.

The best I can work out is one needs to become a member of Discord and then ask for an invite to the channel. However, I see there are already about 160 members listed with names etc. Presumably, these people can just bring up the whole channel when required. Anyhow, will continue to experiment linking to the the channel. If anyone can explain what's required to view the channel .....to others, please go right ahead. It's difficult for us to experiment because it's our site. I have no idea why some people can see the thread and others can't.

You’re right Richard. If you are a member of Discord you can log in - but to see a particular private “server” for a member you need to join that server when you are invited by the owner.
I have never linked, only joined because of you two👍🏻but I see some servers have a join button, just not sure how to do that yet. Away on holiday at the moment but will get on the laptop when I get back and look at it again if no one else has helped solve it. Steve

That's probably the problem.
While I'm a member of Discord, I'm not a member of your specific channel.
I would need an invite.

Yes, I think both of these are right. I'm on discord over 2 years but I think your link is only available to invites.
So the specific pics are hard to link to, you could offer links to your private server but you probably wouldn't want that for obvious reasons.
Not sure if this is helpful and I stand to be corrected, but it's how I understand it.

I don't understand the Discord site either. I remember two things. I had to establish an account. The second was going back here at Lit and using your original invite to see your post. That was some time ago. Now I use my browser history to get directly to your posts. If you can find your original invite and re-post it. It could help those who can't find it.

For other search Discord for this site #richard-and-vanessa-pic-vids-etc

UPDATE. The old invite links (June 2025) have expired.

Hi. Follow on from my earlier reply - got this for the two options re your discord server from a google search.
To make your Discord server joinable, you need to generate a shareable invite link. Click your server's name in the top-left corner, select Invite People, and click Copy next to the generated link. You can share this link with anyone you want to bring into the server. [1, 2]

1. Adjusting Invite Settings
By default, invites last 7 days and can be used infinitely. If you want to make the link more secure, you can edit its settings before generating it: [1, 2, 3]
    • Expiration: Change how long the link remains valid (30 minutes, 1 hour, up to "Never").
    • Max Uses: Limit how many people can click that specific link (1, 10, up to "No limit").
    • Temporary Membership: Toggle this on to have members automatically kicked from the server if they disconnect without being assigned a specific role. [1, 2]

2. Making Your Server Discoverable or Public
If you want your server to be listed on Discord's public search list, you can open it up for public access. [1]

    • Go to your Server Settings > Enable Community to set up standard safety features.
    • Once enabled, navigate to Server Settings > Discovery.
    • Fill out your server's public profile and submit it for review.
Hope this might be of use. Steve
