Some Candle-light photos...

The first one is botched, as the flash was on...

Does your digital cam have a manual apeture and shutter speed mode?

You need to setup your candle at an offset, and then set your camera for a low f stop (around 3-4 if you can), and then a very low speed shutter (like 2-5 seconds)..

Also, to reduce the digital CCD "noise" (because of the high sensitivity), you can use a technique known as black masking.

Take your shot, then using exactly the same settings, take a shot with the lens cap on.

You then use that to mask out the noise.. Ill go find the article on it that talks about it in detail.. It works really well.

Stunning!

Wow...I've never really had anyone actually listen to me before. (Grin)

Just the merest hint of you beneath a veil of night. Shadows concealing, only revealing the parts of you in light. And still you leave us wanting more, your naked form exposed. But please don't leave the lens cap on, or you'll leave us feeling hosed. hehehe Quick poem...

Actually Huggles' ideas about the changing the camera settings sound good for a medium-dark set. Another idea is to have two or three candlesticks together so that you get a brighter flame but it appears to only come from one direction as opposed to putting them around you (that would make for an entirely different effect you could try sometime).

The easiest way to pull off the multi-candle would be to have one that you know is sturdily in the stand or whatever you're using. Then you can even use rubber bands to anchor another couple of candles around it, lighting all three wicks of course. ;) An alternative is to have one of those candles that are about two inches thick and anchor two long, thin candles candles around it. Feel free to experiment, that's what artistic expression is all about.

I'm loving the new set though. Thanks for doing it. :)

(And hey, that second "botch" had some stunning cleavage yet again. So that was an unexpected bonus. hehehe)

I actually had 5 candles in the same spot for those pics.. but I couldn't figure out how to work the camera so that there would be a little more light.. trust me, I'll get the swing of it...

I just got up 10 mins ago, but here are some pics I just took by the light of the computer screen...

Ohhh...so you were a few steps ahead of me there then. (Grin) I'm more new to this than you are actually, I just happen to sound authoratative sometimes. hehehe

Yeah, I just got up a short while ago myself, I was up all night writing, it's a different sort of story than my usual first-person fantasies, it has an actual plot and...well I could hype it for a while, but you're the focus here. :)

I think number four is my favourite of the newest new set...agh...of the ComputerLight set. Better? (Grin) Number four would make a spectacular Av for the next time you consider changing it.

The third pic has a softness to it that I liked. But the best effect was the one-two punch of the first couple. Eyes closed, just woke up, and then suddenly the next pic *BAM!* your eyes...just....just...WOW!!!

Thankyou for sharing yourself with us yet again. (Deep Bow)
