Walking streets as a tranny

Anyone want me to get skanky?

Nice thing about trannying is you can be demure...or a whore. Maybe my next time out I'll get really skanky, with a much shorter skirt to start and (you fill in the rest). Any suggestions? ; )

The term "female impersonator" sounds like something from the 50's when they could still throw us in jail in many states...I am not impersonating anything..Just being my natural, complete (and femme) self.. "Tranny" is okay, but I find that people who make a point to use terms like "transgender" or simply refer to us as girls (or perferably, women) seem to have a better grasp of things..Don't even get me started in on the whole "Chick with a Dick"..thing..anyway, just feeling a little bitchy this A.M. Peace Out!

not at all bitchy.

i think everybody likes different titles. personally i try to use whatever the person i'm talking to is most comfortable with. if you get too tied up in what exactly each word means, it can cause embarrassment and misunderstanding.

When chicklet writes that she tries to use the term that the person she's talking to feels most comfortable with, I agree with that fully!

Wel I would definitely call myself a tranny or a crossdresser, as I dress for my own pleasure and for the pleasure of others in a feminine manner, the persona is a concious side of me.

However once a year I do dress in a style that could be refferred as a female impersonator, when I hostess a charity event. The look is part of the persona that I am creating as an entertainment, more in the line of acting.

One thing that strikes me and always has (well to be fair sometimes it was a crop or cat-o-nine) is how people crossing the gender gap whether they be transgender or transsexual have a view of their desired gender that tends to take on exaggerated ideals of that gender. Not to say that this is bad or in any way incorrect but it amazes me just how many hyper feminine MTFs exist who could make a lipstick lesbian look like a motorcycle riding butch. Or as a gay FTM friend of mine complains about, how many trans men are extremely masculine.

Again, this is not in any way bad. On one hand their are many women and men who do fit their gender stereotype. Something else to consider is that many who cross the gender lines want to disassociate from their gender of birth and cut themselves off from any traces.

Personally I associate as a gender queer female (a bit of a tomboy), have since i was 15. I started hormones at 18 and in fact never plan to do my SRS surgery, though i have plans for a orchiectomy. I do the occasional dragking show and as opt to wear grungy jeans and a t shirt as i am to wear a tanktop. But observations aside, I remember my first time dressing as a female... going to class at my college. I was nervous as hell! Congrats to all of you, It's lovely to see people live outside gender binary.

Oh and at least with in the DC transsexual community, since the definitions can be regional, transexual or tranny typically refers to anyone on sexual reassignment therapy post op or pre. Transgender covers any gender queer individual. Oh and hey this is my first post on lit, greetings you all!
