Fill me in a bit more about vampires, please.

I know that vervain works against them, and certain religious symbols, but that is based on the vampire and not on the belief of the wielder. Sunlight doesn't kill, just makes their powers weaker.

I know they can drink other liquids, but do they eat? If they can, do they even bother?

Are they cold to the touch? Warm after they feed?

Does Lyden ever drink from Arabelle?

First, an apology to all for my absence, RL kicked me in the ass. Hope you all understand.

For reasons I can't explain I find myself fascinated by this fantasy creatures. Vampires interestingly defer from culture to culture, from folk tales to folk tales.

In my library of the term I prefer most the modern day vampire idea behind the vampire diaries and the Originals.

This link might help in your research of the kind of vampire Lyden is. According to our story he's the first vampire in the world... thus an original.

Yes they drink alright, as for eating it's by choice. They can very well do without it as blood is enough to sustain them. Most Vampires eat to just retain that aspect of humanity, some to blend in while hunting... others to whirl away time.

Are they cold to the touch? Warm after they feed?

Yes they are cold to the touch, like the skin of a dead person yet aged Vampires can project warmth out of their body towards another individual.
For example consider this draft from a favorite novel of mine.

"It was raining heavily outside, angrily the wind broke completely the wooden windows. I was still in my silk night gown and the cold was getting to me. I folded my knee to my chest, my arms wrapped around it like a blanket, teeth gritted and shivering. Then a touch, on my right shoulder, his hands were so warm, his presence alone seems to battle the cold. I felt the warmth spreading from his hand to all part of my body like a venom. It enveloped me and despite the chill breeze I couldn't help but feel the presence of a fire in front of me.
Slowly I closed my eyes and drifted into a fitful sleep."

In simple terms, Lyden can make his skin warm as well making others warm.

Does Lyden ever drink from Arabelle?

I think that happened once, in episode two. He was shot with vervain dipped bullets that was spelled, weakened and almost incapacitated he had no choice but to take her on her offer and drink from her. Sensing his beast stir, Lyden decided never to allow himself drink from her again.

If his beast is released, he might end up hurting her as well as the others. He might end up as a Reaper... mindlessly feeding and indiscriminate killing as all sense of emotion is lost.

Great. Thanks. I watch both Vampire Diaries and The Originals, so I'm familiar with the mythos.

I just needed more to go on to know how Arabelle would react to his touch and to know if any biting or blood sucking was part of their love making.

Monthly survey​

We've had 39 posts in 28 days, is this rate fine by you all, if no is there need for improvement... what should be done to improve.

Any questions so far? Confusion? Is there a character hindering the movement of yours. Do you have a character that's entirely dependant on another?

To increase pace of the thread, I have divided the scenes into four.
Lyden and Arabelle
Amir, Melea and Ahnah
Kenneth and Bahiya
Tyson and the EMs.

Should I shorten or lengthen the number of scenes?

A system I use in this thread is keeping you my fellow writers in the dark as to what's to come. Though you're granted lots of privilages as to your role play, I intend creating challenges born from actions you had taken. Sometimes forcing one on you as RL does sometimes.

Yeah, I'm guessing the reason why, is because of Melea's absence. I believe Sean is working round that absence though. There's a writer willing to play a wolf. Take on Melea's role... I'm still keeping the position on hold while going through her character Bio. If Melea remains inactive for forty days I'll have no choice but remove her from the thread.
