We are Reborn (Closed)

“Well okay but if there is anything I can do let me know. I just want to help.” He replied

He smiled as she said good night.

He showed her the panic button and gave it to her for her night stand next to her bed.
“Anything you need I will be there in 3 seconds.” He promised.

“Good night Samira.” He said and went to his room.

He had many questions but knew the answer beyond him and rested with what Samira could find in this work. He still thought about how the tomb had also affected him. That was quite strange. He still disciplined himself to go to sleep rather than toss and turn about it all night.

Her dreams began calmly enough. She saw those eyes again staring into hers she felt the warmth of home and a tender caress. For a long time her dreams were peaceful and tender. Slowly the mist around his eyes transformed into flames and screams surrounding her... no... surrounding the priestess... She began tossing and turning whimpering and trying to call out in her sleep. Her mind refusing to let her wake up she continued thrashing about till she was screaming as well... in Egyptian.

Michael is a light sleeper by nature but his training has certainly enhanced it. He heard screaming in a language not English and hopped out of bed with his sidearm and ran toward her bedroom as he realized the screaming was coming from her room. He opened her door and rushed in not knowing what to expect. He shook her as he realized she was having a powerfully bad dream.

He disarmed the alarm system he was setting off. He called off his soldiers that were responding as well.

“Are you okay?” he asked her with great concern.

Her eyes were open but she seemed to be still deeply asleep. Repeatedly screaming as if screaming orders and calling out to people. Her dream had her possibly reliving something as she sat bolt upright screaming one last time for someone before she woke up shaking looking around...

What happened? Why did the alarms go off? Did I set them off by accident? I sometimes as a restless sleeper when I am over worked.

“You…were screaming in some foreign dialect. I suspect Egyptian.” He said and looked at her strangely.

“I set off the alarms to get in here. That was a powerful dream of sorts. Are you sure you are good?” he reasked.

"Any idea what that was about if I am not prying?" he asked.

Shaking her head no... just fire...

She looked to him her eyes locking on his as some deep unconscious terror still lingered within her eyes. She looked around the room and then back to him...

I... I am alright. Yeah... I... I am alright I think...

“Samira…I can’t force you to accept any further security of any other measures.” He states and pauses.

“I know when people are saying one thing but thinking or believing another. I am here if you want to talk..it has been a crazy day and I myself can’t get a grasp on our visit into the tomb.” He adds.

He starts to walk toward her bedroom door and doesn’t arm the security system as he takes a seat on the couch closer to her door if needed is his intent.

She finally walked out there holding out a sketch pad from her childhood and drawings from much later after she started getting info on this temple and tomb long before she met him. She also had a hand mirror holding it up for him to look in the mirror then at the drawings.

All of this ... She pointed to the sketch pad. I thought had left my dreams and nightmares when I entered what you Americans would call High school... And now... its back. I can never remember anything about the nightmares or dreams other than those eyes... adding in fire from time to time. I can't believe in all this mystic mumbo jumbo I am a scientist... I need facts... We have no images of the Priestess... No mask no anything to reveal what she looked like.

She sat down by him...

I have seen you look at me like those eyes have in both dreams and nightmares... What are you not telling me?

He looks at her talking and then the sketch pads. This is getting freakier and freakier.
I have seen you look at me like those eyes have in both dreams and nightmares... What are you not telling me? He listens as she asks him

“Huh, what are you seriously talking about? I have no clue to any of this.” He backs into the couch and almost falls on the floor.

His skin is cold from the shivers.

“You think I fit into this puzzle? All I know is that everything I have ever learned about Egypt is weird mystical stuff.” He adds and gets up to his feet.

He knew he had something to add but wasn’t sure if to play his card in all of this.

Why you... Why you... those eyes... your Eyes... You getting assigned to this tour... Why does a archeology tour need Armed soldiers instead of just some security company?

She wanted to scream but she knew that would just bring his man running again and the less soldiers she dealt with right now the better.

The way you look at me at times... Back in the temple replica... when you first introduced yourself to me...

She shook her head and collapsed to the floor. Her mind was spinning so fast she was physically getting light headed she had far too many questions and way too few answers.

I need facts not mystical insanity...

“FACTS? I have little clue as to what you want from me.” He replies and sighs.

“I was an orphan. I grew up humbly but worked hard I felt in school and other activities. I have no idea to this day who or why a congressman recommended me for West Point academy. I did well there graduating top in my class. After that…I was assigned to security details. I have no idea WHY we were assigned here or by who. I just follow orders.” He added.

“I have no idea why you draw my eyes. I am sorry I have nothing more.” He states and sits down.

His last card to play was that he had some nightmares that might be connected. He swore to never tell about because he was afraid he would be called crazy. He visualized through the eyes of a soldier holding his shield wearing ancient garb and being restrained, watching this beautiful woman being murdered.

She looked to him she was shaking wanting to cry but she would not let herself do anything like that.

I... I need to go back to the exhibit... I have to sort out whats going on. I can't sleep till I figure this out.

She was shaking as she stood and went to her room to get dressed again to go out.

He followed suit as she went to dress to go out he did the same.
“You are sure?” he questioned but followed her out of the suite.

He held his hand up to his soldiers as he was going solo with her. He drove her and didn’t say another word until they arrived.
"What do you expect to find?" He asked not expecting much of an answer.

She chose one area. He could see the way the archeologist notes said they found it.

Does that look... right... to you? Or does this look right?

She showed him the picture where she had moved the items to where she thought they should have been.

He looked at the pictures and studied both. He was determined to say nothing but something made him talk.
“No your picture is right.” He slumped down with eyes wide.

“It was there that he watched her die.” He said and held his head down with tears rolling down his face.

She looked to him reaching a hand out to slip into his hand.

We seem to be in some shared insanity or nightmare. Talk to me... please.

She was facing him like she had done so many times before so very long ago. NO longer her enemy or a hindrance to her task but... something more. What exactly that more was she didn't know but there was something about him... about them... about this place... and she had to know what.

“I…I..see a beautiful woman much like you…in a robe of some kind. I look down to see myself wearing some type of ancient military clothing including a shield. Arms are holding me. I can’t move.” He says in a gaze.

“I cry out ‘No don’t’….’Please stop’ but they make me watch as they put a long spear through her body and kill her. Why did they do that?” he says almost incoherent.

“I have had this dream since I was 18 years old many of nights. I try not to sleep as this vision haunts me. Why? Why did they kill her?” He says as he weeps.

I have seen those eyes... your eyes staring into mine in peace and... love... and them in a haze of smoke and fire... I have seen the tears in them. Nightmares I have been told I can not seem to bring myself out of till they release me.

The darkness strewn through the temple proves there was a fire... perhaps a battle... things knocked around moved to be used as defenses maybe...

She shook her head she had fought so hard to never fall into this mystical mumbo jumbo but now... what choice did she have.

“What does it all mean? Are supposed to be the priestess and the soldier?” he asked perplexed.

“It is always so intense….he loved her and they just killed her in front of him like they were making him watch for a reason.” He added.

And the last thing she saw were his tear fill eyes looking down to her with fire and screaming all around them.

She guided him into the tomb replica biting her lip a little scared now of walking in here.

Please pick up the shield...

“Are you sure about this?” he said hesitant.

He touched the shield and threw his head back.
“He was not only a soldier but an officer…officer of importance.” He stated and held the shield completely.

“HE WAS THE GENERAL…HIS MEN BETRAYED HIM.” He said with conviction.

“Oh my gawd…he loved her…but it was forbidden as they were enemies. They made an example of her to him.” He said and slumped down with the shield to his knees in the exact place of the general so many centuries ago.

“NO!” he said almost zoning out and incoherent.

"Don't do this...kill me...I was the betrayer...don't kill her. I love her." he said as if he was somewhere else. Tears streaming down his face.

She tried to take the shield for his hand but couldn't. His yelling had alerted one of the guards he left here as she asked him to help her pry the shield from his hand.

I think he hit his head... or something he was helping me with something and began rambling and gripped the shield. I guess for balance.

She looked a little disoriented as well as she was trying to pry the shield from his hand biting her lip. Her mind was racing about what he had said. The gem unseen by any of them was glowing darkly.

He finally gave up the shield but with a hazy look he decked the soldier and knocked him out. He took Samira in his arms and kissed her lips.
“I love you priestess and would give my life for you.” He said still in a haze.

As he walked with her hand in hand from the tomb area he took a deep breath and shook his head. He looked down holding her hand.
“What in the world is going on?” he asked in almost a hysterical voice.

“I don’t know much about reincarnation or mystical stuff but I am not sure we should be messing with all of this.” He said trying to calm down.

Do you remember anything after grabbing the shield?

She was a little spooked as well but not from fear from the flooding emotions memories that flooded her mind making her think she was losing her mind.

“Samira…I can’t recall anything after we arrived here much less you said I was in the chamber with a shield?” he says and emphasizes the last part.

“I am not scared of anything and my soldiers will vouch for that but this scares the living whatever out of me. There are forces I don’t know we should be messing with. I mean what did I do? Please…tell me what happened.” He asks with a cracking voice.
