The attack was executed with military precision. As the body guards exited the two SUVs and -- after searching the area for potential dangers -- opened the doors and helped the young women out, body armor penetrating rounds rained down on them from sound-suppressed semi-automatic .50 caliper sniper rifles.

By the time the still standing escorts even realized they were under attack half of their eight man contingent was dead or dying on the sun-scorched pavement of Mexico City. Weapons were quickly drawn as the big men moved to simultaneously shield their client's daughters and hurry them back into the bullet proof vehicles.

But bullet proof is a relative term. As the remaining four men searched for the snipers' locations -- or, in some cases, simply began unloading their weapons on random windows in the hopes of distracting the shooters to allow the vehicles and their important occupants to escape -- one sniper was continuing to put down body guards while the other was dispatching drivers through the wind shields which, like the failing vests, simply weren't up to the task of this day.

And as if two gunmen shooting from above from opposite directions wasn't bad enough already, during the panic and confusion a third shooter stepped from the shadows and walked up to within just a few yards of the remaining two men, leveled Desert Eagle .50 caliber semi-automatic pistol, and blew their heads apart.

The entire incident took less than 30 seconds to unfold and end. The third shooter holstered the big gun, pulled a smaller more easily handled pistol, and walked about the entire scene, putting two bullets into the head of each of the security detail's members, whether they appeared to be dead, alive, or ... whatever.

By the time the shooting on street level had ended, the two snipers had descended to the street. They waved weapons at the girls inside the vehicles and demanded their exit, bound them, gagged them, and hurried them off to a waiting van in a nearly garage.

Forty minutes later, after changing vehicles three times and remotely disabling two bridges with explosives just in case there were being followed, the trio were loading the two sisters into a small, two engine propeller plane at a small, jungle air strip for extraction.

Once they were airborne and flying low to avoid radar until they were sure their craft wouldn't attract unwanted attention, the kidnappers removed their masks and body armor to reveal themselves as Roberta "Bert" Robinson, Jia Ling, and Mona Lee.
