"Weird" Foods That You Love

What? Me cook? My two favorite friends are the electric skillet and the microwave. Bake is not in my repertoire.:eek:

Well, then, prepare to lose your casserole forever, mister.

Personally, I think learning how to not be scared of the kitchen it totally WORTH having really good food forever.

ETA: I'm allergic to shellfish, but it does sound yummy. I've seen oysters in person and they smell like they taste really good but I can't even TOUCH them. :/

Cottage cheese and apple butter. Good as desert.

French toast with peanut butter and syrup.

White toast with peanut butter and sugar, heated until the oil in the peanut butter melts the sugar.

Peanut butter mixed with powdered hot chocolate, stick it in the microwave until it 'melts', then pour over ice cream.

I've got an incredible fishmonger only a couple of blocks away. It's the biggest and freshest looking selection of seafood I've ever seen, QUeens prices too. I'm always looking at these fish and kicking myself for not knowing what to do with them.

If it involves cleaning 'em I'm just too damn klutzy for the pros not to do it.

When hiking and reaching backpacking destination:

PB, cream cheese in a pita pocket. It's what we had on hand, and it was good, really good. Caloric pile-on.

The cream cheese doesn't need to be refrigerated? I'd have thought otherwise. it does sound good!

chocolate chip cookies with string cheese.

sour cream and onion potato chips and chocolate ice cream.

cheddar cheese potato chips or french onion sun chips with cottage cheese.

spiral macaroni and cheese (extra cheesy) with stewed tomatoes.

M&M's and black olives aren't bad either.

Don't even get me started.

How about raw meat cured in salt and onions. Amazing.

Spaghetti with a little butter and a little ketchup. Don't ask.

If you happen on this side of the world, go to a coffee shop and order "spaghetti napolitan". It has nothing to do with Napoli as it is one of the first spaghetti receipe Japanese learned from the Americans: spaghetti with ketchup sauce, bacon and green bell peppers. Some version also have sweet corn kernels. :)

As for my own weird food combination: grilled rice cake with soy sauce and sea-weeds (this is not weird, is called Isobeyaki Mochi) with cold milk (the combination is what make Japanese go "weird" lol)

Or sliced cheese, capers and mayonnaise sandwiches.

I eat fries with mayo... I too like smoked oysters and canned herring and sardines, something that's apparently weird. And I load pizza with allll sorts of interesting things. But you guys are making my weird combinations look normal!

I also prefer mayo on my fries. :D
The weirdest things I eat are pig ears and beef tongue. The pig ears are a recipe from the Philippines, they are baked until crispy, chopped into bite sized pieces, add green onions and soy sauce. The beef tongue is something my deep southern mother always cooked when she could find it. I haven't had either in a very long time, because neither are even remotely healthy.

That sounds really good!

Club crackers and butter spread. I only do this once in a blue moon, though. I also like to dip biscuits in barbecue sauce. And I eat pancake syrup by itself.

My new favorites are lingua and nopales. (Mexican much?)

Anyone else here watch Bizarre Foods? I love that show, and it's really changed how I view "werid" food now... had dim sum today, and I was super tempted to try the chicken feet. :p
