Friday afternoon/evening - the M6 motorway northbound, otherwise known as hell on earth. Her car with the added "bonus" of kiddies but a slight head start on the traffic. My car with the added "bonus" of solitude but no headstart on the traffic so the journey took about four and a quarter hours not two and three quarters!! Their's took about 6!!!

Arrival at Stalag M55 otherwise known as Pontins. God it is a shit heap and the chalet was pokey to say the least. Missed dinner so took the kids for a walk along the Prom and we had pizza in the noisiest, busiest Pizza Hut you have ever seen. Boy did it taste good after the nightmare journeys we had had.

Bedtime, the kids in the bunk beds and us in the double. Sort of spooning but not tight or close 'cos of the kids and I had one hand just resting on her shoulder when the cry of "why are you cuddling my Mummy?? You can't cuddle my Mummy" came from the top bunk. Much laughter and banter later I whispered "I should have said I was cuddling your Mummy 'cos your Daddy isn't here to cuddle"

A lousy night's sleep (for me at least) and kids jumping all over us by about 7.30am despite the tiring and late night before

A weekend in the life of...............

........Lovemonster & Bluefoxlady part two.

Saturday, after our rude awakening we had breakfast in the "restaurant". Not pretty, not terribly clean, not at all posh but the food was good, hot and plentiful. Thank goodness for small mercies!!

Took the kids into Blackpool on the bus and spent a great two, maybe nearly three hours at the Sea-Life Centre. Great exhibits, lighting, info etc and THAT fish. Holy fuck it was HUGE!!!! Some sort of Australia Grouper (sp) the size of a fridge!! Currently known as Gary but will change sex later in life and will then be known as Geraldine!!

Later we had a tram ride and another bus ride to take us back to Stalag M55. Dinner in the same place. Again the food made up for the surroundings!! After dinner we spent some time in two of the entertainment centres. OMG is all I can say without causing offence.

At 10pm we jumped in my car and drove (or rather crawled) along the 5 miles of illuminations. It took over an hour but was worth it, not only for the illuminations but also the chance to laugh at our fellow humans on hen and stag nights and in various states of dress and undress

Finally got in about 11.45pm, popped the kids to bed and we watched Criminal Minds and drank warm Chardonnay before falling asleep at about 1am.

Part three

Another rude awakening, in my case a choking fit in the middle of the night. I couldn't get my breath and had to stumble to the bathroom for a drink of water. And no you dirty pervs it wasn't 'cos LM was sat on my face!!!!

Apart from that I had a much better night's sleep and the brats didn't wake us until about 9am, which of course we then realised was actually 8am! Hence sending them back to bed or at least trying to. After breakfast the brats went off to the play area for a while and LM and I had 20 minutes peace and quiet. BLISS!!!!! Then it was time for swimming but I decided to stay in the chalet and in fact slept quite soundly. LM and the brats had fun, mainly splashing (and in LM's case, flirting) with a life guard. He was quite fit apparently so I missed out

We then went for a late lunch, the cafe bar was actually quite nice compared to the shabbyness we had found elsewhere and the baquettes were huge. I know a man who would have had fun inserting one of them into his mouth in a very phallic manner! He so so needs to come out

And then it was time for me to come home. LM walked me to the car and gave me a kiss and cuddle bye bye. Back on the M fucking 6, over 150 minutes to travel 90 miles, the majority of which was a supposed 70 mph limit!!! I knew I should have stayed until after dinner

I hope she and the brats have continued to have fun, they are out of Stalag M55 and in a hotel near Alton Towers and have been joined by Daddy. I am so glad he is a dozy thing and that they booked a family weekend away when he couldn't possibly go and so I got to go instead The place was crap but the company was wonderful.
