"I'm sorry to disappoint you, miss," he grinned back. He looked back at Alexa and said, "you look very familiar, Alexa, have we met before?" as he asked. He took a moment looking up and down at her face, studying it intensely.
Tess' drink orders were ready so she loaded her hands and headed back to the pool tables. She had seen two prospective clients that seemed a little more interested in her than was usual. And Jack, he'd tried to buy her time last night and she could only assume he would try again. Maybe it would be a profitable day.
Alexa smirked and took her orders she had to fill. "Perhaps," she purred. She sashayed away, setting down drinks and chatting with the customer. She had found maybe one or two prospective clients, but she wasn't worried.
Jack took his beer from Alexa and took a small drink as he was waiting for her answer. He knew that she was very familiar for some reason. After a moment he looked at his phone and scrolled though a few e-mails before making eye contact with her again. "Pardon me, Alexa, but I need to make a quick phone call," he said as he started to get up and went to a private corner of the room to make a call.
He came back to the bar and signaled for her to come over. "I have a question for you, Alexa," he stated. He also took a look at Tess and signaled for her.
"Did you know there's a missing person's report out on you, Alexa?" he asked as he showed her the website on the phone showing her picture. "I knew you looked familiar. Does your boss know?" he asked.
Hannah was filling out drink orders left and right, she danced softly as she did and flirted harmlessly with some of the guys who settled at the bar.
A few beads of sweat formed on her brow from the constant moving. The different key pegs behind the bar soon filled with their corresponding signed pegs. A few shady jokes were made about it being a brothel, she simply laughed and blew those guys off.
After a few hours the lunch crowd flowed in steadily and she felt sorry for Troy, but after an hour or so she was able to take a break and bring a cold glass of water to Troy, A bell rested at the bar's counter.
"Here stud." She teased softly as she handed him the glass. Her hand rested on his shoulder and she smiled playfully. "Oh while you were gone earlier, one of Daddy's guys dropped off 'bertha'." She gestured to the pretty shotgun hanging just high enough on the bar's back wall she'd need a stool to reach it. "So if you get hot, you can give me your jacket and other stuff.... to hold behind the bar." She traced her hand over his cheek and neck before walking away slowly.
As she passed a group of guys one made a rude comment and she flipped them off, her hips still swaying slowly as she made her way to the bar. It was apparent she could dance, just by the grace in her step. What she didn't have though was the confidence of a dancer.
When she got to the bar, she horridly started mixing drinks. Eventually several guys started asking for mixed drinks, just to watch her cleavage bounce as she shook the ice and mixture.
Tess walked up in the middle of the conversation between Alexa and Jack after he had motioned her to come over and sensed tension. "What's up?" She asked.
''Nice ink?'' Thinking about how's she know I have nice Ink, it dawned on him she really noticed a lot this morning. ''Ohhh yeah, this morning in my apartment window! Yeah you'll be seeing lots of me around lunch time.''
Grinning ear to ear as Raven had talk to him, as the sway of her hips seemed accentuated just for him. ''Damn!...what a woman she is?'' Watching the way she flirted with the men, touches ones shoulder as the other rubs thigh.
Eugene wished he had the nerve to do that, hearing Raven giggle was like music to his ears. He new he had it bad and didn't mind one bit, glancing at Hannah she would rib him without end.
Watching the man that played the rube act, actually was a two bit sleazy P.I. Eugene knew his bad reputation for blackmail. ''Hannah I smell a blackmail watch the guy with Tess.''
Jack repeated his question as Tess showed up. "Did you know that Alexa has a missing persons report out on her?" he asked as he showed her his phone as well.
Tess looked a little alarmed by what Jack showed her. She listened to Alexa's explanation, she knew it was the truth but if they didn't figure it out quick the cops were going to be at their door and everything would be ruined.
"No Jack, none of us knew that," she looked back at him," Did you call it in, is that why you used the phone?" She waited for his answer before she determined whether or not to call Hannah over and get even more concerned.
"Well I thought you should know, just in case people started asking questions," he stated. "I did call and told the other town that there was someone similar that I saw earlier on the other side of town. So hopefully they'll be looking over there for a while. And they'll call me back if they need more info. But she's not required to go anywhere if she doesn't want to since she's not a minor."
"You didn't answer my question. Who filed the missing person's report?" Alexa asked, a little snappish. "'Cause I'm happy here, I ain't goin' back to where I came from. I ain't goin' nowhere."
Tess wasn't sure about what Jack was telling her. She believe the report she'd seen and Alexa's story that backed it up but why was he flaunting the information?
"Then why did you even call it in Jack, if she's not required to go anywhere that is?" she moved between Alexa and Jack, the doubt of his motives strong in her mind.
"Go check on your other tables Alexa," suddenly Jack seemed a little more dangerous than she originally assumed, she wanted Alexa clear of him in case he tried anything.
"Sorry, Alexa, I don't know," replied Jack. "But I figured you and your boss should know. You would need to call the police back there and talk to them," he told her. "I'm just trying to be helpful."
Alexa growled softly. "If the cops come here, and try to bust my ass, I'm fingerin' you, Mister," she said, pointing her finger at him. "I ain't goin' nowhere, and I don't care if I get arrested for somethin' related to it. This little lady would come after you, don't let her age fool ya." She smiled at Tess before heading off.
Tess did not want Alexa to have to go back to a bad situation but if she didn't also protect the business and Hannah, Alexa wouldn't have any place to come back to.
She turned back to Jack,"I don't believe you were just being a concerned citizen Jack," She leaned in a little closer to him," tell me really why you brought it up?"
Troy looked through the door again and saw Tess confronting the guy he had been keeping an eye on with one of the new girls...ah Alexa standing behind her with an angry expression on her face. No one was looking to gain entry at the moment so he pulled the little velvet rope he had installed across the door and walked in locking the door. Walking up quietly behind the discussion he loomed over the guy and looked at Tess.
"Problem Tess?"
Hannah rolled her eyes at the commotion and knew she'd need to have a long talk after they closed. Her arms were too busy to cross, as she filled orders. "Remind me." She spoke to Eugene. "To talk to those girls when they come up for their orders..."
Alexa didn't want to do it, but she understood. "Alright," she said.
She slowly left the tavern, almost crying, and made her call down the street. She had choked out her name and they told her to stay there. She looked longingly at the tavern, wanting nothing more than to be in there, working and enjoying herself.
She waited for the cops to arrive, not wanting to leave.
"I can guarantee the cops won't be here looking for her," stated Jack. "After she tells them she's ok and not going back that'll be the end of it. There's no reason to worry." He took another drink of his beer. "I don't think they want to interfere with this part of town."
