West Richland Tavern.

DJ grinned and laughed softly, before maneuvering through his house to set Alexa down on his overstuffed couch. He propped her ankle up before dropping his equipment off and then grabbed an ice pack. He grabbed a towel before heading back to her. "Okay, towel goes on foot, then ice pack inside of towel. Rotate on and off every 20 minutes," he said, following through his steps, before sitting down behind her, as her foot was propped on the back of the couch. "Do I need to feed you?" he asked her jokingly.

DJ chuckled. "Well, it's going to be hard, seeing as you're reclining on the couch. Or at least, you should be," he said, eyeing Alexa, before pulling her back to rest her head in his lap. He got a pillow to make it more comfortable, as well as to prop her head up far enough so that she could drink. "There. Now here comes the choo choo!" he said, holding the burger for her to take a bite.

DJ smiled, as he set the burger back in the cardboard container. He wiped Alexa's mouth, before looking down at her. She seemed so carefree. It made him wonder what caused her to get into this line of work. He quickly shook those thoughts off. "What would you like next?" he asked, before taking a drink from his shake, and eating some fries.

DJ grabbed some fries, before feeding them one by one to Alexa. "Do you eat your fries one at a time, or do you grab a few and eat them together?" he asked her, while teasingly making her miss her bites by pulling the fries back, or moving them around her face, just out of reach of her mouth.

Alexa giggled. "Depends on how many my fingers grab," she said, trying to get the fries he was teasing her with. "C'mon, gimme my fries!" she laughed.

DJ stuck out his tongue, smiling. "Never!" he said, before eating what was in his hands. "If you want them, come and get them. You have the abs to sit up and get them," he said, holding fries above Alexa's head.

DJ laughed. "You cheated, but that's okay. You got the fries," he said, before sitting back down. He held the burger for Alexa to take another bite of, before relaxing and waiting to hear what she wanted next.

DJ smiled, before holding the shake up and tilting it so that Alexa could take a drink. "I swore I'd never ask this, but why are you working at the Tavern, Alexa? No judgement, but I'm curious. You seem so young and carefree. Not sure what type of past you could have," he said quietly, unconsciously playing with her hair.

Alexa cooed softly at DJ stroking her hair. "I've been in this line of work since I was 14. My momma made me. I worked 365 days a year, including holidays. I've never known any other kind of work, except for dancing, and that's the only extracurricular activity she'd let me do, since men like it when I dance. It was my escape. 60% of my earnings went to her, and I spent the rest on dance classes." She gave a soft sniffle. "I didn't even get to go to my senior year prom. . ."

DJ continued to stroke Alexa's hair, saddened to hear how she'd had it growing up. "I'm sorry to hear about what it was like growing up for you. I'd offer to dance, but right now, we need that angle to get better," he said, smiling as he held up her burger and shake, waiting for her to pick.

Alexa sat forward and took a few bites of her burger, than a few drinks of her shake. "It's okay. I'm used to it by now," she said. "I've gotten stronger because of it. Dancing makes me happy, and it was my escape and reality. Plus, men treated me better when I started dancing."

DJ nodded. "I can understand that. In my past, the people in power respected me more once I got more skilled at what I was doing. Unfortunately it still brought a sour taste to the flavor of my life. I'd have rather never experienced it," he told Alexa quietly, sitting up to reach and take the ice off of her ankle. "20 minutes without ice starts now," he said with a wink.

"Mmm, that feels good," Alexa said, giggling as she reached for a handful of fries. She glared at her ankle. "Get better, now," she said solemnly before leaning her head back and looking up at him.

DJ looked down at Alexa. He smiled, before staring inquisitively at her. "May I help you with something?" he asked in a funny voice.

DJ shrugged. "Up to you. I'm helping you already, if we are splitting hairs," he said to Alexa with a cheeky smile, before going back to playing with her hair.

Alexa smiled and essentially cuddled his hand that was stroking her hair. "And I thank you for that," she said, looking up at him.

DJ blushed slightly. "I'm happy I could help. Now then, you have to tell me what else I can help you with. If it's something I can do, I'll try my best," he told Alexa with a small smile.

DJ chuckled. "In my experience, just go for it instead of waiting around," he said with a smile, wondering what it was that Alexa wanted his help with.
