West Richland Tavern.

Eric

''I didn't eat anything since a really late lunch..if allow me I'll cook us a late supper?'' A smile crept across Eric's lips as he thought about giving a taste of something he's cooked. ''Believe it or not I'm actually a high grade novice chef..you'd be surprised what can cook''

Tess sighed in relief, " that would be amazing actually," she wrinkled her nose up, "I cant really cook anything unless its reheated or comes out of a box with directions on it. Its pretty pathetic, maybe you can let me help you? I want to learn there's just never been anyone around to teach me."

She smiled at him and absently reached for his tie, taking it in her hand and letting it fall through her fingers. She'd always liked smooth textures like this. She shivered a little, she was getting a chill from only wearing shorts and a tank top. She noted how Eric didn't ogle her body like most men did, they usually drooled over her like wild animals even when she was wearing jeans and a t shirt. Not him, he looked her in the eyes when he spoke to her and made her feel like a person of worth.

Eric

Eric couldn't help but grin, at the cute wrinkling of Tess's nose. The way she absently plays with his tie, was charming in her own little way. Seeing her shiver, he slips his left arm around her shoulders. ''You should go put something warmer on Tess, wouldn't want you to catch could. Tell you what, you go change, and I'll teach you how to make omelets.''

Tess smiled,"I had a veggie omelette this morning Eric," she laughed before adding," why dont you poke around the kitchen while I change and see if you can think of something else. One of the specials was tilapia and there's probably some left unprepared you could use if you want. I'll eat almost anything, I'm not picky."

She leaned in against him and put her head against his shoulder, he was warm and smelled freshly showered.

Tess pulled back and stood up to go upstairs, "i'll be back in a minute."

She headed upstairs and pulled on some skinny jeans from her closet and swapped her tank top for a v neck black t shirt that hugged her bust and trim waist perfectly. She didn't want to seem like she was trying too hard so she left her hair and makeup alone. She slipped on some metallic gold ballet flats before heading back downstairs to the kitchen.

"Okay I'm ready." She smiled at Eric and waited for him to tell her what the plan was.

''Alright, I'll go check out the kitchen and the ingredients. Hopefully, there's everything I'll need for fish.'' Eric held Tess's delicate hand as she stood, standing with her lets her hand go. Walking into the kitchen, to see what he had to work with. Finding the fish filets, he took them from the fridge. Taking assorted vegetables dicing them up, putting the mix into a steamer basket. "Ok, get of those red skinned potatoes. Wash and quarter them, place them on a baking sheet. Drizzle them with olive, sprinkle with salt and pepper and rosemary, oven set to 350 and just pop it in.''

Tess grabbed an apron and folded it over a few times before wrapping the string around her waist and tying a bow. She did what Eric asked and tried to stay out of his way.

She put the clean potatoes on the counter and started to reach for a knife before asking, "which one?" There were about 10 different sizes.

"Sorry, I really am that clueless about cooking," she shrugged.

''The one with the 6 inch blade right there, cut any eyes off the potatoes but don't peel them'' Mixing up lemon juice, butter and assorted herbs. Turning on the grill, drizzling a little olive oil on it. Laying out the freshly washed fish on the grill, liberally brushing them with lemon herb butter. ''After you're finished, with the wash the vegetables. And all you'll have to do, is fill that pot with water. Put the steamer basket on top, add the lid over there please?''

Tess cut everything and brushed it with the oil before putting it in a pre heated oven like Eric told her. She did the other things before asking, "so which herbs are you using, how do you know which ones will be good together?"

She leaned back against the island and watched him work. He moved gracefully and with purpose, Tess smiled at him gently and wondered if there was anything he couldnt do.

''It's just 1/2 table spoons of rosemary, a 1/2 inch cube of butter, a table spoon of lemon juice per every two filets.'' With smile Eric holds the bowl out, showing Tess the mixture in it ''C'mon over here and use this spatula, gently flip these to filets. I read cookbooks, it's how I am learning Tess.''

DJ smiled as he stood up, before looking around. "Lets try walking a little more. You want to have breakfast here, or at a diner somewhere and then head right into the Tavern?" he asked, leaning over and kissing her softly.

DJ smiled, nodding. "Okay. Lets get to making breakfast!" he said, holing out his hand to Alexa, before leading her out of the room and closing the door.

DJ shrugged. "Whatever sounds good to you, and that my kitchen has enough ingredients to make. I'm pretty easy to cook for," he told Alexa, smiling.

Tess stepped over to stand close by Eric's elbow. She grabbed the spatula and got the fish onto it before awkwardly flipping it, making the filet break into two pieces. She wrinkled her nose in frustration before flipping the second one with determination in her eyes. She smiled when it stayed in one piece and looked at Eric for approval.

"Sorry I broke it," she said before giggling.

DJ shrugged. "Everything a normal kitchen has. So I'm guessing it has enough to get the job done on whatever you want to make," he said with a chuckle.

DJ smiled. "I do enjoy eggs. How can I help?" he asked, knowing that he didn't want Alexa on her feet too much, and that he did in fact enjoy cooking.

DJ chuckled loudly, a large smile on his face. "Yes ma'am," he said, sitting at the table, before pulling a foot up and sitting with one knee up as he watched Alexa cooking.

Alexa began getting eggs, ham, cheese, and green peppers into a pan and began frying everything together, humming softly, contently. She seasoned it with salt and pepper as well. "Do you have potatoes?"

DJ nodded, before going to the pantry and pulling the potatoes he had out. "Would you like me to wash a few?" he asked with a smile.

"If you could, that would be great," Alexa said, smiling. "Gonna make you Daddy's special breakfast potatoes."

DJ smiled, before pulling a couple potatoes out of the bag. He quickly rinsed them off, making sure to wash them thoroughly. He set them on a cutting board he pulled out, before walking up behind Alexa. He wrapped his arms around her waist, kissing her neck. "Now what?" he asked, nipping her ear.
