"You will find I have no time for those so called woman or men of high society" He said with a wave of his hand and a smile on his face "I am a man of the world and earth I and my family... my pack came here with nothing and it was our blood sweat and hard work that brought every thing else to fruition"

"We rarely mingle with the town of society" He explained as another round of tea was brought in for them "They do not understand us and our ways in time you will learn to you will become a part of this pack and its secrets will be yours to know"

He took a sip of his tea and regarded her "I trust you are not adverse to hard work?"

"There is something to be said for hard work. Most of the high society have gained their wealth off the labor of others, or through generations of the same. I respect that you are a self made man. I will show your home and your family the utmost respect and confidentiality. And no sir, I'm not adverse to hard work. I've spent many evenings on my hands and knees cleaning up after one of Georges tantrums."

She smiled lightly taking a sip of her tea. "I will happily give my full attention and capability to any task that you assign. I'm in your debt."

"No" Abraham said firmly at her mention of debt "You are not at all in my debt"

He took another sip of his tea and reached out placing his hand on hers "Thinking of it that way will do neither us nor our marriage any good.... I do not wish you to think of me having saved you from that man or think I bought you I simply used my power to make your self available to me no more no less now that you are we can begin our courtship and eventual marriage"

He patter her hand before leaning back into his chair "Put in the hard work and you will always have a place her regardless of if we marry or not.... though I have every intention of making that happen" He told her glancing at the grand clock.

"Supper is coming up" He said rising from his chair "The wives and sisters all cook and we have a big pack dinner you shall join him" He said helping her rise and pointing to a building outside next to the house.

"That is the kitchen" He told her "Go see Mary Lou when you get in there okay" He said kissing the top of her head.

She smiled softly and nodded with a slight curtsy. There was something about this man that was special. There was something about this man, that made her feel special. Doing as she was told she made her way to the kitchen and sought out Mary Lou.

Mary Lou was a sweet tempered woman that took particular favor to her, she was showed around the kitchen and was given a couple of tasks to keep her busy. Several woman gave her a curtsy when she was introduced as Abraham's' fiance'. In all she had never been treated like she mattered before.

Although she wasn't informed yet on what it meant to be one of the pack. She found a sense of belonging in this first visit to the kitchen. It provided her with a sense of contentment, instead of dread. Of course she was aware she had gotten the bad end of the stick when she was forced to marry George. Not all men were like that.

She smiled at Abrahams recollection of her being the belle of the ball. That had been a very very long time ago. She was such a free spirited child then. But life with George had altered her and made her meek. But Abraham didn't seem to be like that. He was kind and seemed to love his people.

She was going to do her best to be a good wife for him. Even though he didn't want this looked upon as a debt, she was still utterly grateful.

When the dinner bell was rung, she with the rest of the woman brought forward the food.
