What are we all writing right now?

After struggling with the revisions a bit, my 14th work, "Familiar," has been submitted to the NonCon/Reluctance category and is pending publication. EDIT: the story has been accepted and will be posted on January 11.

I could have sworn that I'd mentioned it before, but a while ago I decided to try a sword & sorcery story with a dragon as a monster. I've been working on it off and on over the past six months, and now it's at 7.5k words with the big fight still to come. Mystery, intrigue, betrayal and a bit of oral sex.

The first version is done! A little over 10k words. Sex, intrigue, betrayal, and fear-filled shit.
Well, apparently it wasn't anywhere near done, because I've added 1.5k word, including a whole scene at the end, and I still have to write the sexy bits.

It’s been done a lot, but I’m doing my version of the kinky executive domme and younger male assistant dynamic. My other femdom story got the best feedback so I’m going to focus on that. Friendly dommes that are nevertheless very dirty once consent is established.

My next installment in the endless saga of "Jeong Park" altho I just got diverted and submitted "Blood Silver" and the next chapter, "Bloodletting in Dalangazad" is plotting itself in the back of my mind. Chinese historical, set in a sort of Tang-era China ariund 600 AD, with demons and monsters, when Chang'an was the capital and one of the three largest cities in the world (the other two were Constantinople and Baghdad).

The Tang empire in 661, when it reached its greatest extent.

This... from a non-erotic(so far) piece I'm working on. Working title, Shadow of the Cat. I think I nailed this conversation with a goddess ... I'd appreciate any comments...

Where pain and anguish should have been, nothingness enveloped her. Not cold or dire, but warm like fur in the afternoon sun. Her only companion, the sickly-sweet stench of blood pooling underneath her.

“Goddess, please.” Jesse’s words hung in the void, echoing through the silence.

Golden eyes opened in the emptiness as a presence unfolded. Something, someone cutting through the dark like razor-sharp claws through flesh. Pungent incense with a hint of cinnamon filled her head. The taste of chocolate and honey touched her tongue.

A radiantly beautiful woman stood before her. Her feline countenance and her compassionate power were overwhelming.

“Little one,” Bastet spoke in soft, reassuring tones. “You have crossed the threshold. Why do you summon me? What is it you ask of me?”

“Mia, my mom… He just shot them.” The pain and anguish that had been missing came pouring back. Her voice trembling, she fought the tears and continued. “Why?”

“You ask for understanding. I cannot give you that.” Bastet cocked her head to one side. “Peace, yes, and I can help you finish your journey, or I can help you find what you truly desire.”

“Justice?” Jesse’s voice grew calm.

“Or vengeance.” Bastet nodded.

“Aren’t they the same?”

Bastet stepped closer. The goddess knelt so their eyes were level, hers gold reflecting grief like fire in water.

“No,” she breathed. “They are twins often mistaken for one another, but they do not share a heart.”

“They took everything from me. For what?” Jesse felt her fists clench. “How could whatever was on that truck be worth so many lives? Why did my mom and Mia need to die?”

Bastet reached out, caressing Jesse’s head. She stroked her blood-soaked hair, her eyes filling with the pain that filled Jesse’s heart. “Your wound deserves to be honored, answered… It should not be denied.”

“Then help me.” A resolve grew in Jesse’s soul. “Vengeance or justice, I don’t care. Help me make this right.”

“You should care.” The goddess’s voice took a somber tone. “Vengeance is born of pain and seeks only to echo it. It will not end your suffering but bind you to it.”

“And justice?” Jesse spoke softly, letting her anger turn slowly to purpose.

“Justice is tempered with mercy. It restores balance, protects the innocent, brings consequences to the guilty, and ends the cycle. It brings closure.”

“Mercy?” Jesse barked.

“Justice is not mercy,” Bastet replied. “Nor is it cruelty. It is truth made unavoidable, and sometimes, mercy is a part of that.”

A deafening silence simmered between the two as Jesse considered the goddess’s words. Her purpose calmed as the rage it concealed morphed into a steady resolve.

“I think I understand.” Jesse nodded. “Then, you’ll help me?”

Bastet smiled with a look of fierce satisfaction. Rising to her feet, she briefly morphed into the shape of a great cat. “If you follow my path, do not do so to punish, but to protect. Any suffering that follows is theirs to bear, and my wrath is fierce.” She extended her hand. “Choose carefully. Once chosen, there is no returning to innocence, only growing into understanding.”

Jesse reached out. “Then teach me.” Her words were soft but filled with determination. “Help me make this right. Show me how to put an end to the rage burning in my heart.”

Bastet’s claws unsheathed; her catlike smile bore needle-sharp fangs. “Come, little lioness.” The goddess smiled. “Let us begin.”

Slightly bizarre timey-wimey fated mates plot that may end up being a romance or may end up being non-erotic.
Hopefully will have this slightly bizarre timey-wimey fated mates bullshit plot done by tomorrow and it will definitely be non-erotic. Then maybe I can get back to my Valentine's entry, then when that's done back to the Star Wars piece I set aside to work on the Valentine's entry I set aside to work on this (which will also probably be a Valentine's story). I need to stop letting my plot bunnies roam free.
