What are you thinking?

Mean girls are everywhere.

True story:

When I first joined Lit in 2015, I was not welcomed by most women here. The vibe was different back then. I was too loud, too flirty, too friendly, and yes, too interested in having fun with sex. I had to decide if I was able to ignore them and just carve my own space out here, or let them win and either change myself on here, or leave altogether.

If you're like me, you've experienced mean girls from being young to today. They'll always be there.

We are fucking awesome and we can rise above the pettiness, the drama, the lies. We'll always be judged by their standards. But we are proud of who we are and we have integrity of being authentic. :rose:

The vibe here has definitely changed over the course of time. I don’t know if it’s better today or not, but it’s definitely different.

Agreed. For me, it's better overall. It's not perfect, but nothing ever is. Apart from me, obvs. 🤷‍♀️:nana:

According to my account I’ve been here for 24 years. I definitely have not been active for all of that. I’ve seen when this site was very active until now and the one key is finding your community. If you can find people who you connect with then it’s a great place to.

I’ll also add anyone who can make a banana dance is pretty cool.

I did leave for 2 years but that was about my personal life, not about online. I'm not sure I have a community per se. I don't feel like I 'belong' in here in that way - but from what others post, they feel the same way. I see myself very much as an outsider who kind of forces herself in, banana dances, then walks away. But I'm happy with that. Too much 'community' and I'd feel obliged to meet expectations or something.

But I think that's the beauty of what online should be like. To have it as you want, as long as you're being authentic and not setting out to cause hurt? Ok, going to stop thinking out loud in writing here. Getting too serious. Yuck. :p :D

The people here who appreciate you and don't expect to to message us back are your community. 🍌

I wonder who has the oldest account here that is still active.

The new coffee & cocktails place needs to open already… I want to walk down the street and get a drink!
