What do people in high school fight about?

Jealousy doesn't have to be about romantic/sexual attention. Friends get jealous when their friends spend time with other friends. It's a vicious cycle, and it's definitely not only in high school.

yes. i can also say class warfare. it has more umph.

and i was proposing no such thing. you did. i was making a statement about some of the reasons kids fight in school. everywhere i've ever lived the poor kids hang out with the poor kids, rich kids hang out with rich kids, middle class kids hang out with middle class kids. it's not quite that black and white, but i believe its fairly accurate.

and i'm poor kid, so i'm not being a snob here. i'm just stating my experience.

lets not fight.

er- just kidding, but we are talking about fighting over petty stuff.

ps, high schoolers don't always fight with the people they hang out with, so the rich and the poor kids usually end up fighting over something anyway.

They also like to complain about lame teachers, graduation requirements, and where the party should be that weekend.

There are, in fact, some very good conversations and such that go on, but you wanted the petty stuff

these are good. she wears her pants low, he says there too low, he wants her to let him copy her homework, he's mad bc she got a better grade than him, she's mad bc. he was helping Missy Mason a little *too* much in PE, (or computers or whatever) she wants to sign up for the paper, he wants her to come to all his football practices, he's a chauvanist pig and says stuff that pisses her off (like on the war thing, my bf and I =avoid= the subject of woman in combat because it gets ugly- where not in HS but still...) In HS my BF would always always pick a fight w/ me whenever I was trying to get some work done w/ a friend of mine. I don't remember what the fights where about though. Parents are also a hot topic. He could compare her to her mom -that's sure to piss her off- or tell her that she should be more respectful of them or something, or he might get mad bc shes always using him to piss of her dad....

my son stabbed a girl in the hand cuz she took his pencil when he wasn't looking (i think she probably liked him and was just teasing him) now granted, that was elementary shcool, but cary that to hs and maybe her cd is missing from her locker and she accuses him of "borrowing" it without asking.

also, about nsync, she's a rabid fan, he insists that they are gay- wich really gets her panies in a twist, but maybe he's a raging homo-phobe so one time after he says it, she says something like "you know that's really hot, I can just see JOey going down on ????, while ???? sucks on ????'s toungue" which pisses him off for 2 reasons

also, in HS, your not supposed to, but couples almost always share a locker, so if one of them has smelly gym clothes, cheese/beefcake photos, pop that spilt, a misplaced schoolbook, or maybe finds a NOTE that so and so passed (passing notes is very big in HS- esp amoung girls) the shared locker has nearly unlimited possibities, its like the teen age version of living together!

oh, he bought her jewlery that she dosn't wear (esp a ring) she bought him clothes that he won't wear (esp a sweater or shirt) she's always trying to dress him or make him "preppy" or whatever, he's always mad bc she's too "nice" esp to other boys. (not intentional flirting)
