I think why I post has changed over time. At first it was to see if I would be brave enough to post pics of myself. Since then I have enjoyed taking and editing pics and learning through trial and error.

My favourite things are having a place to show my pics and the interaction with some very fun and supportive people.

My favorite thing is seeing real people being real and taking a risk. I like when beautiful women, who are not models, have it confirmed that they are beautiful.

OK, I was tempted to say "Icy's boobs," but seriously:

As I made it clear in my own thread, I started posting pictures as a way to motivate myself to get into better physical shape and hopefully get encouragement from the ladies along the way. That has worked better than I had even hoped, and I am so thankful for all the kind words that have come my way.

I continue because, to be honest, the feedback makes me feel really good about myself.

There is much more, though. I have found that I am among friends. The Ampics posters, both those that post pictures and those who just comment, are mostly wonderful, caring people. Who would have thought?

I am also enjoying the artistry that is part of erotic photography for those that choose to make it so.

Some thoughts as a picture viewer:

Ampics is refreshingly real. The media inundates us with images of what they have decided is beauty. I appreciate those images too, but there is something too 'processed' about them, and their definition of beauty is too narrow.

Ampics is real beautiful women and men. A very wise person here once told me that all body types are appreciated and yes, lusted after, here by at least some portion of the audience.

If you happen to have the body of a supermodel, sure we'd love to see your pictures. If you happen to *not* have the body of a supermodel . . . well, guess what . . . we'd love to see your pictures too! Chances are, no matter what you look like, you are exactly what someone wanted to see.

I first visited Am Pics years ago. It actually took me a while to even notice the forum. I joined Lit to read a friend's poetry. Then I left for a few years and returned. This time I knew about the forum and was there to see real pictures or women. No airbrush touch ups, no heavily Photoshopped images, no professional lighting and make-up. What I really wanted to see was who was still around. I found Emmy, Tali and a couple of others.

I posted on Am Pics because of a handful of women. I had commented on their threads and we had become friends. I was sure I'd only post a few here and there and be done. But much to my surprise people liked my pics. The friends I'd already made and some new people as well. Then one friend gave me a stiff kick off the Thread of My Own or Stay on the Shared Thread fence and I bit the bullet.

I like taking pics. I like editing pics. I like the interaction. And yes in like the attention and kind words. I needed a new hobby and more importantly I wanted some new friends and lucky for me I found both at just the right time.

So now I take pics and post for a relatively small group of people. Most are on Lit, most of those are friends and they have all helped with critiques, edits and ideas at some point. It's like I'm driving the race car and they're my mechanics, pit crew and/or sponsors. Of course spectators are encouraged to come down to the pit to meet the team and I any time. I may be one of the few men on Lit that actively encourages my friends to become friends of each other or at least chat.​

The diversity of styles. Some are color and others are black and white. Some are quick snaps and others are planned portraits. Some are raw others are artistically edited. Some are clothed and teasing others are nude and explicit.

My favorite thing lately is the artistic threads. JRP's Living Works of Art threads and your World of Artsy Images has helped up the quality bar on Lit pics. The spillover can be seen in other threads.​

It is like a journey for many of us. It doesn't stay the same as the reason you first arrive here. The people you meet good and bad shape the experience you have.

I'm a big fan of the more artistic side although I don't claim to be arty in any sense. Lol.

One reason is that I am an exhibitionist and love to post nudes and have people enjoy them.
I also love that the women who post are "real" people that have taken the risk to put themselves out there. I also find them incredibly more beautiful and sexy than the models we are used to seeing in the media and porn sites.

I think media tries to dictate what is attractive in both men and women these days.

I think for me as much as anything it comes down to the freedom of it. The fact that those who care to share can express the freedom of whatever it is they wish to share as little or as much as they want to. I think it's the freedom of those who get a chance to enjoy and watch for them to express that freedom and express their feelings and it's just I like the openness the fact that all of us are comfortable enough to be able to share things together thoughts feelings pictures that kind of thing so I guess to me it's kind of a fun community of fun overall experience. As silly as it sounds to me it feels a little bit like family.
