"Aftermath, Just Loving You"

This is an extended version (18.2K words) of my last story, in which I showed how a narrow-minded husband couldn't deal with the changes forced on his wife. This version adds scenes where she is explaining herself and her new desires to her therapist.

The story is a caricature in every regard. I used extremes to show the husband as a very prudish, monogamous, judgmental type, and the wife starting out that way, but FORCED to the EXTREME opposite (now desiring three men at once, and ass-to-mouth).

The story is posted to Loving Wives, and I wanted the judgmental types there to think about love, innocence, and desires over time ... as people change.

They still don't get it. It's currently rated 2.06 with 101 votes and over 4,800 views in six hours.

I've never had a story receive that many votes and views in such a short time. Is it the category, or has the reader traffic here increased that much?

My latest piece is up - To Death Us Do Depart

It's something different from me, somebody asked if I could take the DNA of their idea and flesh it fully out. I like a challenge, it's set in the US, and written in US English which proved to be fun. Simple words like "lift" and "decking" are examples of items that needed to be weeded out to be replaced by "elevator" and "deck".

It could have sat in LW, after the feedback from Shaken By the Hand of God we decided that this tale should sit in Romance, although there are some very loving wives within the tale!

It's an emotional trip, I hope it works.

I've had stories set for publication two days from approval (well, once I submitted seven at once and they were all published one a day for a week). Laurel probably believes that your story will get more attention on Tuesday, maybe if there are all too many lined up for tomorrow and Monday.

That could be. She might be giving priority to the summer contest stories, which would make sense. This story isn't one of them.

That happened to me on my last story a week ago. It was pending for only 12 hours, then approved on Wednesday, but with a publish date for Friday.

It may have to do with the numbers of stories, and possibly with the stories already approved for any particular category. The site admins would want to ensure a steady supply of new material to keep their audience coming back.

I've had it happen a couple times. I always assumed that Laurel was pacing out the stories so they were balanced each day.
