"Ugh! Is dealing with other people always this irritating?" I murmured in annoyance as the intruder was escorted out and most of the security contingent left with him, except for Jaylah.
I stared at her for a long minute.
If it's true that everyone would be seeking to use me as a political pawn, the face of campaigns I've yet to even understand, I would not be led blindly nor would I let these people abuse my good will. Finally, I mumbled to her, "I don't care what you do as long as I'm left to sleep in peace for a few hours and don't open my eyes to find my life in danger again."
That said, and my relaxing nightcap ruined, I stood and gestured to Two to bring me a towel. I turned my back on the obviously flummoxed soldier woman as I took my time drying off, then took a leisurely looking, well thought out, stroll to my nightie. I took it and turned around, facing her to see the indecision in her features just before lifting the silky fabric above my head and slinking into it. I prevailed to ignore her, making it plainly clear I was finished dealing with people for the day and honestly did not care whether she stood there all night or walked away, I said goodnight to my favorite robot whilst climbing the vine ladder to my hanging bed.
