What inspired your AV?

My current AV is the illustration done by cantdog for my poem in the Coming Together anthologies. My usual AV is also by cantdog - that one from a pic.

He's amazing, isn't he?

When not featuring his artwork I tend to use naughty cartoons.

Am I merely hiding behind a silly and flirtatious facade?

Perhaps.

Cant rocks. Can't think of any AV I'd rather hide behind.

That is a wonderfully explicit illustration!! He has a phenomenal talent!! Is there somewhere else he posts his work?? If not , he certainly should! I am a huge fan of erotic art!!

This is my second av. There is a story behind how I dropped my first one - let me just say, it was an "attractive nuisance." While a postage-stamp size rendition hardly does justice, the inspiration behind this one is obvious - a breathtakingly gorgeous painting. (Which perhaps some Chicago Litogether attendees may see if they take time out for a junket down to the Art Institute. My av will be the painting that at all times has a small group in front of it - people stopped in their tracks by the beauty.)

Rubens is an artist most well known for portraying women who are anything but slim and slender. Because my Lit name is Buxxxom, and I am, I chose the painting "Cimon und Pero" that now hangs in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. I liked the way the buxom lady is offering herself to the enslaved man.

My AV's are all photos of the area where I used to live up until last week, the emerald coast. If I still had my digital camera I would take some photos of where I live now...but that's gonna havta wait a few months. I'm gonna buy a new laptop this week..or at least put in the order.

So ya'll are just gonna havta to deal with these for now.

The wave is my favorite (I love the clouds and the water). When I'm feeling really blue I put up this one.

Here's an angle that hasn't been discussed: Those who keep the same av all the time, and those who change often, or cycle through a set selection. Another category are those who use different images with the same theme, such as Black Tulip's pin up girls.

The one I'm using right now is of myself, with added facial hair- I have a bunch of self images, some of them photoshopped to make "costumes"
I have other "costume" aves; Edward Scissorshands, a 52 Vincent Motorcycle, a can f cream of weasel soup...

I mostly have the same ave up all of the time, but I have been known to change it from forum to forum on a whim, to whatever suits my fancy. I'm too lazy to change it all the time though

My AV at the present was a photo I did for my husband. I was playing with gimp and came up with this and sent it to him at work as a ... ok I was terrorizing him at work with tantalizing photos to see how quick I could get him to leave work and come back downstairs I wanted to change my AV and he said to use this one. God knows what will be put up next when I go mad for a change.

My other AV is my thigh high black leather boots. I fell in love with the things and at halloween the hubby snapped some shots of me in them while wearing my pirate wench costume.

I needed a brand new AV, and I had a lovely top on that showed a bit of cleavage. I'd just washed my hair, so unusually I had it down and I stared posing. Whipping my hair across my face like that hides my second chin - it's camoflage *LOL*

I always use Av's of me, I rarely use a cartoon or art piece if I'm feeling really shitty about myself, but I find having an actual picture of me makes life easier. The more shallow guys just don't bother trying to cyber me when they see it and when I get an AV compliment I know it's about me and it's genuine -I like that.

Oh and I am a teeny bit of an exhibitionist *chuckles*

What inspired mine?

I'll give you three guesses. Many of my AVs are pics that Kiten took at my request, or ones I took with her. I just feel that looking at her is a whole lot more interesting than looking at me. I've had a few AVs of other things, but nothing that struck me as so interesting that I'd come back to it over and over.

My current av was coz i wanted to show my step out of my clothingcomfort zone- it was a mini discussion in another thread a couple of days ago.

I change mine fairly regularly- tend to be pictures of me (never my face- not yet ) or scenery or something.

Why do i change mine all the time? coz i am an ever changing person- still forming, still deciding and thus my av can reflect my mood or it can be a far cry from it.

I'm not ready to show everyone what i look like...and so no pics of my face just yet. Of course there are some people who have seen what i look like for various reasons.

Well... Vermilion is another name for 'bright red' so all my AVs have that in common. The shoes one, which I use most of the time is because I love love love those shoes and thought they made a sexy kind of AV without being at all sexual which interested me. Now they're just part of me I reckon it'd confuse people if I didn't use the red shoes most of the time.

When I change them I change them for pictures of me that are more revealing, but there's always a splash of red in there somewhere.

But I reckon people like the shoes.
