What Inspires People

So far, all the erotica I've ever written has been intellectual exercises to see if I could write erotica. I reworked a friend's vampire story to see what that would be like. I wrote a pure smut stroke story to see how that worked out. I tried erotica-in-cyberpunk as another writing exercise. That one actually came out as romance, which surprised me at the time but probably shouldn't have. And finally, I tried to get inside the mind of a woman with the last piece I posted on lit. Right now, my multi-category story is also an intellectual exercise.

I guess my erotica isn't very inspired ;)

I know I already posted here, but it was general.

This weekend I was inspired by someone really special and really far away. :D Innuendo is AWESOME!

believe me, u can post all u want!

i find myself walking through campus, seeing random young ladies...I look for a certain facial expression and try to draw from that and see where it leads me!

Take an innocent thought and make it dirty.

If that doesn’t work go to an orgy and write about it.

Everything in life is derived or conceived from sex.

Some of my ideas have come from fellow readers, but most of them pop in my head. I always have a pad of paper with me, and when a thought stikes, I write it down and go from there. When the mood hits, and the ideas keep cuming, I can sit down and write a story from beginning to end in one sitting.

I usually start with a fantasy ... "what if ..." and let it build from there.

I try to push the envelope by imagining myself in situations that are at least a little uncomfortable. those scenarios make me think harder and usually prove to be the most interesting exercises.

a friend of mine once said her favorite sexual fantasies come from the feeling she gets when she's balanced on two chair legs. one of two outcomes -- safely landing forward, or blindly crashing backward.

now that girl was fun.

i agree with that too...in a story, it should be about things umight not normally do!

so hwta do most of ya'll prefer? a single story or multipile sotires with the same character?

depends... I've read some stories that on their own have been fantastic... others have been 3 or 4 separate chapters... both have their merits!

I've written my first piece for lit with a view to more chapters, I've had feedback demanding the next installment. Sometimes its great to leave people hanging on... ;)

Don't have a preference. I love stand alone stories that keep me guessing. And I also enjoy reading a continuation. But according to much of my feedback there is a high demand from the readers for continuations. It seems they really get wrapped up in the characters and can't stand the thought of them not returning.

i have found that, when I write a story that shows a little character progression, i have no choice but to continue

All sorts of things inspire my muse. The conflict between desire and freedom is a big part of my bondage stories, and my novel, which are all set in the same universe. "Summer Thunder" was inspired by a photograph of a man and a woman kissing atop a Harley.

I just never know what is going to get me going...
