and I just found out the other day his age.
Love to see him still rocking the way he does and showing no signs of slowing down.

Cool little tid bit...we decided to go down to the fence by where the buses were parked. We got our ticket stubs signed by the lead singer of the opening act (band called Burning Brides) and we saw Jeordie White (ex bass player Twiggy from Marilyn Manson) walk out and board the bus...and we saw Maynard walk out quickly surrounded by a group of people (in jogging pants and minus the wig he always wears..so got to see his bald head ) and we also saw James Iha walking around a lot. We finally decided to leave though after standing there for 30 minutes or so. I'm sure James might have eventually walked over and signed some autographs, but we just gave up on it. I really wanted to see Maynard, and I saw as much of him as I was going to (love the fact that he tries to maintain some amount of privacy in his life...always wearing disguises and standing more towards the back of the stage away from the spotlight)

Anyway...was very awesome...and yes, I am very stoked for a new Tool album, so I hope after he takes a bit of a break, he gets back in with the rest of the Tool bandmates. (They had 3 more shows to do after the one I went to..and they were ready to be done and get back home...don't blame them)

What did you think of the Burning Brides? Saw them last year when they opened for Audioslave. I wasn't impressed. They needed to stop between songs and say something to the crowd. Instead it played like one long song. Opening acts are supposed to make the crowd excited.

Watched the bands come out to their buses before. Fun stuff if you have the time.

I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to see Tool, but I still have it on my list.

I basically wanted to sleep during Burning Brides set. The chick bassist was cool...this little petite thing with a big bass...but yeah, I basically stretched out in my seat at wanted to just sleep until APC came on.

APC started out very cool...there was a little stage set up next to the drum set (which was positioned over to the right side of the stage instead of the middle) and there was a cloth like thing set up in front of it in a circle shape...light behind it..and Maynard was behind the cloth..so you could see his shadow as he stood playing drums and sang Vanishing..very cool...and then after the song, the cloth dropped so you could see him on his stage. They all played very well....and Maynard talked quite a bit. Said that the whole set was dedicated to Ray Charles and to masterbation (lol) and then after 3 Libras..he said to Josh, the drummer: "Josh, I just thought of something really funny...moshing...during 3 Libras no less!" Yep..we had skinheads..moshing..and he dogged on them (gods I hate this state such morons here)

Overall..yes...very awesome show
