Is it too late?

I am fortunate, I have mood cars.......

My baby is a 2004 911 carrera turbo, 0-60 in the most exhilarating 3.6 seconds of your life.

Spouse/me have a cayenne turbo for us, or her primary.

Have to have the Ford 350 crew cap PU for pulling the boat.

And last but not least family is 2004 chev suburban.

Plus toys, 67 camaro, 32 coupe.

One one monstorous RV.

Kids have theirs.

No BS.

Well first you have to provide us Brits with a translation...

I could answer "truck" without hesitation ('cos I do that for brass [=bucks]), but what's a VW Passat estate (with trailer) translate into in US-speak?

That'd just be a VW station wagon.

I actually don't drive anything right now, but I've driven everything from 4-door family saloons (sedan for the americans amongst us) to 2-door V8 sports coupes.

The last car I owned was an E-reg Astravan. (Try explaining that to an american)

That one was a Ford Taurus - my third car.

You ran over a cow in a Ford Taurus?

My advice? Don't buy a people carrier.

Or a Mercedes.

'Station wagon' sounds good to me, Raphy - I think that ought to be comprehensible to the USA-cans, while still retaining some meaning to us Brits

Well...  Nah!  Not up to that sort of challenge right now.

Having read all the stories here, I can say only one thing;

And some people wonder why I don't drive.

Living in the part of the world I do, I'd feel seriously handicapped if I couldn't drive.

Haha.. Well, when I first started talking to whisp online, I eventually gave up trying to describe it and just showed her a picture I'd found online of one. Vans like that just don't exist in the US.

I drove it because I was working as a professional musician at the time and I had all sorts of gear to cart around with me, guitars, amps, speakers, etc. I couldn't have managed with a regular car.

Turned out the van was rediculously low insurance, too.. Although, after coming from a Nissan 200SX, I suppose most anything would be low insurance. ;)

I've been the sports car guy for the last 15 years or so. RX-7, 2.5 liter Fiero, Mitsu Starion (Wee Haa!), and for the last couple of years, a mongrel Vette. '87 chassis rebodied as a '93. I love the 4th generation body with the tilting front end and the cockpit interior. Also have a 1200cc Yamaha sportbike in the garage, an old FJ12, the last of the big air cooled fours. Heavy, but fast! I've done 67 mph in first gear!

I know that one, though I'm not a musician, just the PA man.  Hence the trailer that no-one seemed to notice... ;)
